  Short Term Impression - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

  I have owned the car for 2 weeks and have driven it 460 miles. Ive had an opportunity to do some highway driving (approx. 200 miles)in addition to local and I have been very impressed with the experience. The car is roomy, handles well, and my gas mileage during this break in period has been excellent. I have only 2 recommendations, offer a passenger power seat and folding side view mirrors. These actually dont detract from the good experience. I have had Acura Tls for the last several years and I am impressed by the performance of the Sonata. I am still puzzled by the "low" price, Dont know how they do it, all in all a winner.

  Quiet, yet powerful ride. Great build quality, Lots of room, inside, and in the trunk. However, almost all overshadowed by the very uncomfortable driver seat.

  After doing extensive research on several comparable models I "discovered" the Sonata on Edmunds.com and Im sure glad I did! I hadnt considered a Hyundai, but I was willing to keep an open mind and give all the vehicles a shot. This car is very tight & solid, has great acceleration and is very pleasing to the eye. The doors close w/ a heavy thud, not a tinny feeling like some models. The interior knobs and buttons have a substantial feel to them and are placed in a logical order. The shiftronic transmission coupled w/ the V6 makes for a very fun driving experience. So many standard features for the price really make this a car you MUST consider.

  I had been in the market for a new car for sometime, and after driving most competitors, I tried the Sonata and fell in love, in so many ways I knew it was the car for me. The car itself is beautiful, a great exterior design and the interior is no slouch either with sweeping lines and a graceful center stack. The seats could use a bit more bolstering though. Everything works perfectly, as one hopes in a new car, but I foresee the quality holding up well. Maintenance is easily done, with long intervals due to advanced design. I love driving the car, its fast and easy to drive with elan. The transmission shifts slowly from 1st to 2nd, but it DOES improve in time.

  Front Seats could be softer as Ive compared same to leather seating in other makes. The exterior and interior are exceptionally beautiful. The vehicle is a pleasure to drive but havent been able to experience highway driving to ck. the so-called 30 miles per gallon. Would like Hyundai to make a recall to soften seats. The styling is eye popping overall.

  After taking a test drive on the Sonata I was sold. I have been very impressed by the fit and finish of the car. I am getting the 20/30 fuel rating listed and have enjoyed riding either to the store or on the road. Has great acceleration and is fun to drive. The LX is extremely quite and has a very big feel to it. Once people start to learn more about the new Sonata they will become more popular than the Camery ar Accord. Great value, best safety features available, and excellent quality. Best kept secret around. Great job Hyundai

  Great Car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

  I traded my 01 Blazer for this car mainly for fuel economy. My only complaint is that Hyundai does not offer a rear spoiler and the car does not come with automatic locks. The 17" wheels offer a much stiffer ride than what Im used to, but its not bad. The interior seems spacious, but I think Ill have to get a smaller childs car seat for comfort of rear seat passengers.

  This vehicle is not in the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord league... I would say my Sonata LX is in more of Lexus or Acura league...Well, Hyundai does not have its luxury division as of yet but it will soon... Its interior is larger than those Camry or Accord. Performance? 6.7 seconds from 0-60 with excellent road management ability. All premium features such as Advanced Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control System, ABS are standard. Safety is the best in its class.
