  • Hyundai needs some gas mileage. - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Took a trip to N.C. and only averaged 22 mpg.

  • by far best buy for money - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I have had many cars from Cadillacs to TR6s. Few have continued to attract me to want to drive more often. It is truly "driver friendly". In black it gives the appearance of a more costly vehicle. Passing power is impressive, as is its excellent braking system. Audio controls on steering wheel lacks station changing mode. Also, radio is placed where air/heat controls should be. I am averaging about 17-18.5 city, and between 24 and 25 highway @ (75- 78 mph.) If Hyundai ever goes upscale to Lexus status i will buy one. Until then, I am quite satisfied.

  • This Car is HOT! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

This car is sweet! The engine is snappy, the transmission smooth, and the ride is great! Way to go Hyundai, the best one yet. This car looks like the Acura TL in the rear, especially the LX, with the dual chrome exhaust, and the tail lights look similiar to the Accord. The interior space is great, largest cabin in the mid-size sedan class. The trunk is HUGE! We have the Deepwater Blue with Beige interior, it is absolutely beautiful. And who can resist a pretty car with new styling inside and out, a new 3.3L V6 engine that averages 26 MPG combined city/highway? Same features or MORE than Accord and Camry for $23,300 rather than $30K for similiar trim....and the warranty, that sold us!

  • Lovin It! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I did a lot of research, and test driving this time around. And I am so glad , that I chose the Hyundai Sonata. It has so much to offer, and is a great value. It really is a fun car to drive! Plenty of power, and comfort. I got the LX model, with heated leather seats, too many options to name, that you wont find with the competition, very luxurious, and comfortable. It will go head to head with the competition, any day.(Honda Accord),(Toyota Camry). If you dont believe me, just go test drive one today. It certainly isnt the Hyundai of 10 years ago, in fact, it feels like a much more expensive luxury/performance sedan. Best warranty on the market to boot!

  • Drives like a dream - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Looks like a Honda Accord but Drives like a Beamer. Love my Sonata V6- GLS. Now have 50K miles on it and with the exception of paying out of pocket to have the center brake light replace ($125). Nothing but smooth, quiet and a powerful ride. Was looking at an Acura, BMW and a Accord. Out the door with tax including sunroof for 18K. Would buy again.

  • Great Car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Like others, I was hesitant to look at Hyundais because of the brand name and its old reputation as a cheap car. Well... after looking at sticker prices, I was "forced" to take a look at the Sonata, and I cant be happier about it. The car performs fantastic. Its quick off the line, powerful in highway passing, has a smooth ride, and the gas mileage isnt too bad (most of my miles are highway). Ive driven family members Accords/Camrys/Altimas and my honest judgment is that I have the best car, and saved thousands over their choices. My only complaints are purely superficial, seats need to be longer for comfort, steering wheel radio buttons dont allow channel changing.

  • Fun to drive again - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Never owned a foreign make car before but I just love this car. It has plenty of power and shifts smoothly. My gas mileage is 32 on the hwy and 24 in town. Not bad. Warranty is also great. The car looks like it is more expensive then it is. I got sunroof and leather heated seats for far less then I could on a Honda or Toyota.

  • Quite Happy - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

A whole lotta car for not a lot of money. Went with the LX to get the 17 inch performance rated tires and the auto climate control. Generally a comfortable, well handling car however I find the gas mileage to be abysmal in that its not even close to the EPA estimate. More like 15 mpg in the city (sometimes less!) and a fair 28 mpg on the highway. Acceleration lags a bit however at highway speeds passing speed is achieved quickly and powerfully. Carpeting in my car was not installed properly; molding on spare tire cover has come off. Paint easily chipped to base coat. Overall, Im quite happy with this purchase.

  • Almost two years, i still love it - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I have driven this car for almost two years and 16,300 plus miles it has not given any problems, even though fuel prices are almost $4.00 per gallon, Im still glad i bought the V6 instead of the 4 cylinder, the 4 cylinder model only gets a 2 mpg gain in average mixed driving the V6 is worth the drop in mileage because of the performance of the engine, I do like Honda and Toyota but they about 3k-5k more than a sonata with the same equipment, This only car i can say the give you more for less.

This is the third Hyundai Ive purchased and OMG have they come a long way from the 1986 Hyundai Excel. This car is quality all the way around for an extremely reasonable price.
