After 3 years and 24000 miles,I say that this auto has lots of pep,is very reliable, very inexpensive to operate and maintain,is safe, and looks and feels good to drive. One possible negative is the seats can be a little uncomfortable. Best car for the money on the market today.

I had to get a company vehicle and actually traded in a Mercedes SLK 230. The model to get is the GL 4 cylinder automatic. If you get all of the incentives available and buy over the internet, you may find yourself paying around $16000 plus tax. For that money, you will get a car that blows the comparably equipped competition (Camry, Accord)- out of the water. Seriously, the BASE Sonata has the same features as the mid level Accord and Camry. It is the perfect company car, and surprisingly, I like driving it. Great gas mileage, wonderful stereo. Hyundai has proven that it can build cars on par with the Japanese for several thousand less. What else is there to say?

I leased this loaded 06 lx because I was leery of Hyundai as brand. 3 yrs.& 33k mi. Later I am going to buy it. Still love the car I spite of the 2 things that bug me=the seatbelt warning bell is going to die after I buy it and the am radio is the worst I have ever had (29 cars). I was going to buy a 09 but I hated the black carpet in the light interior. Stupid and cheap looking. (all the 08 ltds were gone!) I average 24-25 mpg with the v6

Its a great car. I have owned it for over a year. If you can get passed the name plate your well on your way to a great ownership experience. If you have too much money go ahead and buy something else. But in all reality- this car has almost everything else beat in its class at a significantly lower price point. Engine is great. Interior fits my 6ft 2in 210lb frame very well. Its really quiet at freeway speeds. Its easy to get in and out of. The sound system w/ subwoofer is actually really quite good.

I really enjoy driving this car. I have owned many cars and this ranks with any of them. It is not quite as enjoyable to drive and as luxurious as my grandprix gtp but it also didnt cost as much and it has excellent safety features and warranty. I have never heard of a car with so many options at such a low cost 19k. I will buy another hyundai when I buy my next car!

I have driven every make and most models in my seventy years, and this by far the greatest car I have ever owned, I cant much for the local dealership, which is not where I bought it.

I have owned the car for about 6 months. I am proud to own this car. So far I am happy with every aspect of it. The fuel economy is is great, about 26 mpg combined hwy and cty. I love the mp3 player.

  • Hyundai Happy BUT .... - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Purchased the 2006 Sonata LX V6 in June. Fresh off the factory floor. Good price for a good car despite two early recalls for minor fixs. Has good pick-up to get on highway. Good visibility. interesting areodynamics. You should see the air flow pattern from the driver seat when its snowing. Fasticinating. Easy reach to all important controls. Seat warmers work well - almsot to well. Downsides: Poor handing in snow. Darn seat belt bell wont stop ringing if you get out of the car with it idle.

  • You get what you pay for - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

My wife and I have been driving her Honda Accord since 1998, so when I bought my Sonata in March 08 used w/ 18k miles for just over $15k, I was holding my breath a little that I wasnt getting sucked in" to the hype. Four months and 4000 miles later, welllll???? Maybe a tad. This car has amazing power, great interior and exterior looks. Build quality doesnt come close to Honda, though. I guess its true. You get what you pay for. The paint job is maybe the worst Ive seen on any car..theres a big money saving area for Hyundai. Also, sheet metal is thin. I even have a little metal bubble on the drivers floorboard that "pops" when I push off to get out of the car. 20mpg city/30 pure hwy.

  • Looking good so far! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I am a former Honda Accord and Nissan Maxima (3) owner, so my standards are high. The Sonata is not as "cushy" as my former cars, but it measures up very nicely when one examines the overall look, fit and feel of the car, the warranty, the standard features, and then the price one pays. This has excellent value. I bought mine for $3000 less than the MSRP. I am pleased with the handling and overall comfort. The 4-cylinder engine has plenty of power. I especially like the Shiftronic feature, having owned manual transmission vehicles for more than 25 years. I can shift down when descending steep hills in my community. If the reliability of the car meets expectations, Ill be a winner!
