  • Sonata Beats The Competition - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Bought the Sinat LX V6 and find that it defintely beats the Accord and Camry on all fronts. It offers a comfortable ride, plenty of room in front and back and plenty of horsepower. Accelerates very well and rides smoothly. ABS brakes are tops and Stability Traction Control helps on bad roads. Trunk is enormous and the 100K mile warranty is tops in this category. The leather seats are comfortable and good visibility from all windows. The CD player works flawlessly and the heated seats are wonderful. Best of all, people have stopped to ask me about the Sonata because its styling and apppearance. That never happend with my Accord.

  • Love the gas mileage, hate the quality - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

It has about 57000 miles on it and its had 3 struts replace and 3 of the mounting brackets for the struts. The cruise controls are in a bind and are going to be replaced. Paint on both bumpers is cracked. Dealer repainted the hood but I got it back with the cluster assembly cracked in 4 places. Motor is very noisy when cold. Gas mileage is 27-28.

  • Looking forward to owning this for years - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I previously owned a 2001 Elantra GLS, which I drove from 31k to 191k on the odometer. I bought this Sonata with 25k on the odo. Hopefully it can get me beyond 191k. I love the bigger engine, even though there is a little sacrifice with fuel economy. The car is put together very well and is a great car for highway driving. Granted, the suspension doesnt shield noise as well as the Accord, but given the price difference, its hard to justify buying the Japanese brands. For the money, this car is difficult to beat.

  • Thrilled with this new car! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Ive only had this car a week, so my review at this point is limited. However, it truly is a joy to drive. Smooth, solid feeling, responsive, comfortable, FUN! I have the loaded model, and so far no complaints. Ive also had several people tell me what a great looking car it is. The quality and value for the price is amazing, and anyone shopping around should definitely go try this car before they decide!

  • My Hyundai - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I never expected to own or love a Hyundai, but this is not the same Hyundai of yesteryear. I LOVE THIS CAR! When I drive, I feel like Im in my own little piece of heaven. The engine is so quiet, the controls are easy and dont require a manual to figure out. The interior and trunk are way more roomier than they have any right to be.

  • I love my Sonata! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I traded a 2002 Elantra for my 06 Sonata and what an upgrade! I commute 100 miles per day, which is what led me to purchase a Hyundai in the first place, due to the fantastic warranty. I bought my Sonata on Mothers Day of 06 and now have almost 80k miles on it. I have had no problems with this car. It does not let me down. Its fun to drive with plenty of pick up and roomy comfort. I have taken on several long trips and it averages about 30 MPG on the highway. I have gotten as much as 39 MPG out of it, but under limited circumstances. This is a really great car! Mine is black, so always dirty, but I really love it.

  • Sonata over Prius - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai dealer in my area is staffed by knowledgeable sales people. Customer service is friendly, prompt and consumer oriented, complete with a fleet of loaners. They separate issues from people and are thus able to give exemplary service while correcting problems. Ive not had a major problem yet (one week). I also test-drove the Prius, and it is NOT made for Chicago (the wind drives the car more than the steering wheel!)

  • Super value - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I bought this car used and commute across town daily. I have had zero problems! As others have said, the fit and finish and quality of build is far better than expected. The switches feel solid. It is fast (coming from an owner of many muscle cars) and inspires confidence in traffic. I would like a bit tighter suspension, but I didnt buy it as a sports car,so thats fine. The seat felt strange for about one day, and Ive found it quite comfortable in the last year. I have no problems with the AC/heater controls and radio positions that others have noted. I added a subwoofer to the factory stereo and it is incredible, and I still have lots of trunk. This car is a great value.
