Bad engine 2.7 liter - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By Mr. Roberts - November 29 - 2:00 amThe intrepid was a great car UNTIL the engine fell apart at 73000. According to Jasper Engines, Dodge has a problem with the 2.7 liter engine in the Intrepid. Our Intrepid had to have new engine put in. Wish someone would have told me about the problem engine. Buyers beware.

the worst car i ever had - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By kj6992 - November 5 - 2:00 amit was the worst car i ever owned. i would not have any other chrysler product in my garage. they are cheap, they dont run worth anything after 30,000 miles, and i just dont think they care too much about us.

Oh Those Sensors!!! - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By Wgold - October 25 - 2:00 amI also had problems with both sensors. I learned too well what "Limp Mode" was! The total cost for both episodes was about $260 each. Definitively its something that needs to be corrected. I have gone over 100K miles and I use it every day. I love he car and probably would buy anotherÂ…If they fix those darn sensors.

Dodge introuble not intrepid - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By Andy Lohden - October 12 - 2:00 amLast post 90 car I am buying. I traded in an Eclipse, because I wanted a car that was more reliable, but it was just as junky as the eclipse. I replaced every sensor and a $320 Fuel pump in the first year. Took Dodge dealer 2months to figure out the fuel pump problem. I bought a 84 Ford Crown Vic for $500 to get me around until the dodge was fixed. The Crown Vic never gave me a problem, so I tried to sell the Dodge, but I cant get what I owe on it. I hope it likes the barn Im going to store it in until I can sell the garbage. Be wise buy an old clunker itll get you further then the new junks without the payment. Dodge, Eclipse hater.

No more dodge - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By no more dodge - October 11 - 2:00 amAfter three years of major repair bills Ive finally given up. Rack & pinion out at 60K and average repair bill around $2K per year. Now it has a mysterious starting problem that has put it in the shop for 4 weeks straight that the mechanics cant figure out. I bought another vehicle last week.

Love the Intrepid, hate the road noise - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By Hot Mom - October 8 - 2:00 amI just bought a 1999 intrepid I havent had any problems so far but It seems like it doesnt go over bumps as quietly as it should, when I ride in my best friends toyota solara then go back to my car its like Im on the mine ride at cedar point! if youre from ohio you know what Im talking about Well maybe thats a little harsh but I think dodge should improve the suspension then the car would be perfect. I love the way it looks, I have a silver one with the metalic paint job on it so it sparkles in the sunlight. Its one of the best looking affordable family cars out there, the interior needs some updating though. but overall I like the car.

class action - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By austin tx - September 12 - 2:00 amThis was Intrepid #2. My first was a 95 and had a repeating front-end problem. Should have learned! My 99 Intrepid was the first new car I have ever purchased and about number 15 in vehicles owned. At 52K miles I spent over 5k to replace the engine. They said lack of required maint. I say bad oil sending unit. Brakes $700 Window motors replaced under warranty as well as both engine fans. Lots of road noise and dont dare roll down the back windows while you are moving. Dont buy

Never Again! - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By mrock - September 10 - 2:00 amBought as a program car. Have 54K miles on it. Have had numerous mechanical problems. AC out @30K. Front right strut@40K. Left control arm bar@50K. AC and alternator belts@53K. Even the Dodge emblem fell off the front hood. Talk about junk. I tried to trade it in and the dealer would only offer me 2k for it. Talk about a joke. Ill never buy American again.

What will go wrong next?? CAE - 1999 Dodge Intrepid
By MixedBag - September 10 - 2:00 amMy Intrepid has 145K miles and the engine has been very reliable. It rides like it has 40K miles. But I am counting the days until I can sell or finish the payments. List of Problems a.Driver seat bolt broke. (Thankfully, I was not driving.) b.All power windows have stopped working. (No more drive-thru meals.) c.Speed sensor has malfunctioned 3 times. (Once during rush hour in Atlanta) e.Power seat assembly is broken.(Costs $1K to replace... why throw good money after bad???) Learn from my mistake:If you buy an Intrepid (any model) get a very good price, with a dependable warranty.
