Overview & Reviews
Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.
- Superb comfort, wide variety of safety and luxury features, balanced ride and handling characteristics, available all-wheel drive.
- Handling lacks true sport sedan precision, expensive optional equipment, turbo lag and torque steer in the T5 model.

After 24,000 miles... - 2004 Volvo S60
By GV3 - February 29 - 2:03 am...glad to report this is a great car. I purchased my 2.4 at the end of the 04 model year from my dealers service fleet. In the two years Ive owned it, it has been completely trouble free; the only $ I have spent is on oil changes. Front seat comfort is outstanding, although rear seating is a bit tight. Not a fast car in terms of 0-60 acceleration, but not slow, either; mid-range acceleration when passing or merging is quite good. Ergonomics are terrific. My other car is a BMW 3-series, which frankly is more fun to drive, but the Volvos comfort is the choice of my wife and I for a longer trip. I traded a C-class for the Volvo, and feel we traded up in comfort and reliability.

Piece of junk - 2004 Volvo S60
By DZwink - February 5 - 11:43 pmWe bought our Volvo when we decided to start a family due to the safety reputation. My sister had owned three, one of which saved her life in a wreck, and had also managed to put 300,000 miles on one without incident. Ours is now about to go in the shop for the third time in two months. It has had three parts in the fuel system fail so far with Volvo comping me on one due to my less than pleased opinion of the car so far. Ive never had this many problems with a car before. I wont be buying another one. Makes me wish I had bought the Infiniti or Volkswagen I was looking at instead of this.

Sporty, Luxury Sedan - 2004 Volvo S60
By Randy Tibbs - January 23 - 10:00 amThis car is absolutely solid, very quick and responsive, with its 200 horsepower engine. I really like the AWD in the snow. I got every package/option possible and glad I did. The brakes are really firm and stops the vehicle quickly and evenly. I have owned Cadillacs, Lincolns, Land Rovers and Mercedes. None of them compare in quality, fit and finish. The first time I had the car washed, the attendant said, "this car looks hot, just standing still." This is a great car, but it is really for two people, or maybe two people and a grandson.

This is not Your Fathers Volvo ! - 2004 Volvo S60
By Larry A - November 21 - 10:00 amThe first thing that caught my attention was the fit, feel, and comfort of the seats. The side bolsters just beg you drive the car. Its got to be the sleeper car of the decade. Was at 80 mph in second gear before the end of the entrance ramp. Its the first time I ever had to slow down to merge onto the I-state. Turbo provides a solid kick in the pants with very little lag. Makes driving FUN. Blue gauges, aluminum accents, and blue stitching are sharp. Salesman said it would seem there was always someones bumper in your face and he was right. This is not your fathers Volvo its my wifes!

S60 R Review - 2004 Volvo S60
By drapolas - October 29 - 10:00 amI was looking for a performance sedan for quite some time, and decided to test drive the S60 R just as a joke. After driving it, and learning more about the amazing technology features on board, I couldnt stop talking about it. I usually prefer German and Japanese cars, and I test drove the BMW 330 xi, the Audi A4 3.0, the new S4, and the infiniti G35 coupe. It took me 6 months to finally convince myself that the S60 R was just a better overall package of performance and practicality. It just provide the best of all comfort, performance, fun with the best seats in the automotive industry. The engine is a marvel particularly with the 6 Speed Manual.

S60 - 2004 Volvo S60
By Stuliny - October 9 - 10:00 amGreat car, easy to drive and even the 2.4 has some pep to it. Quiet ride and ROOMY and a pretty decent stock stereo (which was a nice surprise) nice alternative to the other sport sedans out there....bmw overpriced and audi just too small of a cabin

2004 S60 2.5T - 2004 Volvo S60
By germayne Holland - October 3 - 5:53 pmI just bought this car and it currently has 206,000 highway miles, which I figured out but running a car fax and whoever the owner(s) were prior to me, took very good care of the car. So far I absolutely love my car. When I purchased it, the only thing I had to do is change the spark plugs (NGK Iridium), front sway bar links/stabilizer & the drivers side outter tie rod, with a wheel alignment afterwards. I repeat do not go to the Volvo dealer to service this car. If you have a regular licensed mechanic, that knows Volvos, thats sufficient. I purchased my parts online and then took the car to my mechanic just for the labor. I use mid to premium grade gas, it runs better with the turbo.

SUV lover converted - 2004 Volvo S60
By ManhattanJ - September 22 - 10:00 amI am extremely happy with my 2004 S60 AWD. I have owned Jeep SUVs, with the comfy leather and such...I decided to convert to a car and test drove the Mercedes C320 4matic and BMW 330XI - I LOVED the Volvo. Also, you get more "bang" for your buck with the Volvo...This car is SOLID. Made the mercedes C320 feel like a piece of tin.

Very Nice Car - 2004 Volvo S60
By Bruce W. - August 28 - 10:00 amI have driven my 2004 s60 2.5T for just over a month and I really like this car. I have not had any problems with the S60 and I am very happy with the soild fell I get while driving the car. I traded a 1998 S70 and it did ride as smoothly , nor did it have as much power and firm handling. I only have a 1 year old who rides in the back in a car seat, so the lack of rear leg room wont be a problem for years to come.
