This Year's Model Updates:

Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.

Pros:
  • Superb comfort, wide variety of safety and luxury features, balanced ride and handling characteristics, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • Handling lacks true sport sedan precision, expensive optional equipment, turbo lag and torque steer in the T5 model.

  • Finally Here! - 2004 Volvo S60

I ordered this car 4 months ago after researching it for well over a year. The car was well worth the wait. Its early in the game for me(only 200 miles) so I will not carry on too much until we get a few thousand miles on the road. But initial impression is 10+. Got the T- Gray, w/ Black(looks more like Blue) leather, Premium pack, on call plus, 18" wheels, 6 sp, etc. The phone is great and the tunes sound great as well. The cup holders are not in the right place for a manual, maybe ok for Auto, and thats my only complaint. Overall Im very pleased and excited about the ride and performance of this Volvo.

  • FM Problems - 2004 Volvo S60
    By -

I have owned this turbo for three months now and on the second day I noticed poor to no reception on the FM radio its been in the shop three times and goin in for #4 and still no fix...The people at the dealership have not been very understanding and basically deny the problem exists...The fourth time better fix it or else.....The turbo with the tiptronic is hard to power shift due to the turbo lag...the headlights are set to low..The AWD creates oversteer..The turning radius is horrible for this size car

  • Fix the Turning Radius - 2004 Volvo S60
    By -

I am extremely dissappointed that Edmunds didnt list the turning radius as its #1 con. There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to make a u-turn on a 2 lane highway without having to back up. My wifes 2002 Honda Odessey Minivan has a bettter turning radius than this. My recent rental 2004 Chevy Malibu has a better turning radius. If you drive in California which requires many u- turns and tight parking spots think twice about buying this car. Volvo has to fix this!! Other than that it is fun to drive and a great value considering what you are getting for the Money. I wish I performed U-Turns on the test drive.

  • im happy - 2004 Volvo S60

I really like this car! Prevously I had an 01 acura TL. THe performance of this car is awsome, the interoir is really nice, the look is great and there are not many on the roads, so whoever owns an awd s60 R will have a special car. The only thing that could be good or bad for the car, is that they are going to make them next year.

  • Best Sleeper Ever - 2004 Volvo S60
    By -

I love my car. Without effort it hurls itself past other traffic. It stops quickly (very) and straight. It will plow snow out of your way (not deep snow mind you, but it was still impressive to trundle through a 1/4 mile of 6-8" deep snow without issue). It (literally) drove where a well driven Dodge Ram 4x4 with weight in the back could not. If you know where your car is, you wont hit those bits of concrete when you park.. No matter what you do the turning radius stinks, and if someone gives the rims a funny look itll leave a mark. It is a beautiful car in person. Drive one and I suspect youll get one.

  • PURE, UNADULTERATED PERFOMANCE - 2004 Volvo S60
    By -

WOW ! i drove this car in New York in April, one month before it was released in the USA. It was for the volvo perfomance driving school. Handling, speed, power, comfort, everything, just perfect ! if anyone wants to know anehtin bout it, im here ! just ask !

  • Love it! - 2004 Volvo S60

I love this car despite the quirks mentioned in other reviews. Its great on the highway, not so great in parking lots, but overall very suitable as a daily driver if you want fun. I love the overall driving experience including the steering wheel, pedals, and seat. In the black sapphire color, with a fresh coat of wax it looks brand new and sexy even after 6 years. The leather looks almost new. I like the rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, 3-position seat/mirror memory, push-button adjustable suspension ("4c"), and wheel- mounted audio controls. The front bumper is too low and the turning radius is awful. My wife thinks the ride is harsh and the seats are too low.
