Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.

Rare Combination - 2004 Volvo S60
By Reviewer - April 9 - 5:50 pmI love my S60R! Few cars in the world can claim high performance, comfort, exclusivity, great looks, all wheel drive, and still get 30 miles per gallon on the highway. It is a jack of all trades, and a master of none, other than being a great all around performance car. I bought the car two years ago with 25K miles and have had a few maintenance issues that have thankfully been covered under warranty; i.e. the HID headlamps pointed down too much and triggered a warning, the radio display went haywire, there in a thumping sound in the rear suspension occasionally when braking, and oh yes, the factory front air dams got torn off in a matter of months.

Have trouble with back- firing when shifting around 3500 RPMs told by Volvo that this is normal variant of the vehicle with standard trans---with 300 HP why would you have an automatic!! The Black sapphire looks sharp. Was worried about the blue interior--but it is eye catching with the blue weave. Love It!!

By cpbarton - March 27 - 10:00 amThe S60 R is an owners delight. Performance is the most important aspect, 295 lb/ft of torque throw you back in your seat. The three chassis settings add versatility that few other cars in this price class can match (Advanced is great for right-lane interstate passing). 120 mph is smooth & quiet. The brakes are perfectly smooth & effective, not to mention good looking. The metalic blue interior gauges look great, especially at night. And with all of the sportiness, you still get a luxurious, safe, practical, understated (adult) car.

By raizin - March 15 - 2:00 amcar feels strong, very quuiet --low road noise, the backside of the front seats is cut in to allow slightly more leg room in the back, car can be loaded with safety features. I enjoy the "W" (wet drive) function, STC (stability control). Just wish car was standard with all wheel drive.

By SMPM - March 5 - 7:23 pmMy S60 was a fleet vehicle w/low miles. I averaged 36 mpg hwy driving the car back home cross-country. The car is safe, solid - its not nimble like my old A4 or current Jetta, but solid. If I hit anything with this car, I will either push it out of the way or run over it - thats the feeling this cars drive quality has - heavy, solid, secure. Ergonomics on this car are superb. The seating is heaven and safety-blessed with the WHPS system. I have the 2.4L engine, and while I dont drag race, I know I have reasonable passing power. I drive this car like a hybrid - slow off the start, no wasted fuel, moderate braking on stops, and I average around 26/27mpg in urban driving.

Sweet - 2004 Volvo S60
By ATY - February 12 - 5:43 pmI enjoy driving this car and plan to keep for at least 10 years or more since I only put 10K miles per year on the car. Besides $ for oil changes, I purchased a new set of TSW rims that are powdered gray against the white car. I do have a recurring problem where the computer loses it program and the dealer has to download a new one, on three different occasions. Also, the turning radius is pathetic and the tires grind when turning too hard. But, it gets great MPG and drives like a dream. Also in the past 4 years I probably replaced 5 tail light bulbs?

Very Nice... - 2004 Volvo S60
By PDaddy - February 7 - 10:00 amPurchased w/ the premium and sport packages. Ive only had it a couple of weeks but I look forward to every opportunity to take it out. The ride is smooth, comfortable and peppy. As for roominess, Im 62" and 175 lbs. My girls fit nicely in the back seats but adults are a little more cramped, however thats expected in a sport sedan. The turbo gives it the added power it needs. I test drove the non- turbo and found it to be too lacking in the power dept. Seats are very comfortable and the stereo is above average and easy to work. Hope to have a more thorough review after I put more miles on it. Im looking forward to those miles!

Impressed - 2004 Volvo S60
By volvoguy6 - December 23 - 2:15 amWhen I bought this car I had some serious questions about weather I had done the right thing or not. I did have to put some $$$$ into it to catch the maintenace up, but I knew that going in. A month later and Im in love! This is my 3rd Volvo the other 2 were from a time when a Volvo was a Volvo so I was very skeptical when I bought this one. The body design is what really caught my attention and after doing research I was sold. The car gets an amazing 30mpg on the hwy (at 70 mph) and its also fairly efficent in town so the fact it needs premium is not that big of an issue. The seats are very comfortable and the car stops on a dime. Im really very happy with it so far.
