Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.

  In my humble opinion, the R excels in all four of my selection criteria: Style, Performance, comfort and safety. The relentless pull of the 300 horses, the amazing cornering of the active suspension and all wheel drive, the supple smell and feel of top quality leather and the bullet proof construction all make the R a real standout.

  After many weeks of test driving cars, I finally returned to my favorite Vovlo dealership to test drive a 2004 S60. As a former S40 owner, I was quite skeptical, since I had some mechanical issues with the car and the scheduled maintenance was expensive. I was trying to decide between the Volvo S60, the Audi A4, the new Acura TSX and a 2002 BMW 325i. I had tested the 2003 S60 and found it to be a little sluggish, but the 2004 was much peppier. I also like the small changes to the interior and, of course, the free scheduled maintenance. Its a fun, safe, solid car. Also, after wrangling with the dealership, I bought mine for just under invoice....

  Cant beat it for the money, Unless you want to drive something ugly. Its fun to drive, fast, and quick. I find myself driving much faster than normal and cursing those who drive merely 10mph over the speedlimit, because the car makes it so easy to do. Looks good (specially for a Volvo). Plus it has all of the thoughtful conviences youd expect from a luxury car.

  Small things bother me - 2004 Volvo S60

  I have had my Volvo for over a year now and its a good car, but I cant get over the radio knob for the pre-set stations, its a pain to use. Also, there is no trunk release in the car, which means I have to use the unlock function inside the car or on the key fob. Also, there is no where to put trash. The rear seat headrests block my vision, therefore I drive with them down and it looks stupid.

  Have really enjoyed the experience of owning this vehicle. Excellent power, no torque steer, AWD stability when pushed in corners, great sound system, etc. The overall "experience" has been excellent. Ive put a lot more miles on this car than I expected.

  Good body style. Very strong acceleration and braking performance. Snow tires very helpful in our northern climate (WI). 4000+ miles on car so far. Am getting some minor brake squeel from front brakes.

  I was looking for a reliable, fun and safe car that wasnt a gas hog and could be driven year round. The Volvo S60R was definitely it. I looked at the Audi S4, the Acura TL and many others. None could compare to the R. It has 3 different suspension settings that actually make a huge difference in handling. It has plenty of power and a huge torgue band. I am getting about 23 miles to the gallon with some highway driving. However if you are on it (throttle) and I mean on it (like racing from 40mph to 120mph with turns and a lot of brakingyou will on get about 12. The brakes are unreal. The interior quality is execptional. The features just keep on giving. Awesome car & mileage too.

  All the waiting and debating ... Its finally mine The automatic is quick ... the sound system is amazing and the interior puts a smile on my face. I will recommend this car to anyone ... hats off to Volvo for creating such a dynamic vehicle at such a reasonable price.
