This Year's Model Updates:

After debuting last year, the Volkswagen CC sees a handful of changes for 2010. Among them are the 2.0T's adoption of VW's six-speed automated-clutch DSG transmission (it replaces last year's conventional six-speed automatic), newly standard Bluetooth, a new touchscreen-operated audio system, new wood accents for the VR6 and new rear badging that shows "CC" and indicates the trim level.

Pros:
  • Peppy and fuel-efficient base turbo engine, powerful optional V6, balanced ride and handling, well-equipped, stylish inside and out, available all-wheel drive on VR6 model.
Cons:

  • A sweet shifting ride - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Bought this CC Sport with manual 36 months ago with 30K miles. Now up to 58K and still very pleased. Was looking for something fun and kind of distinctive to replace a 10 year old Maxima and wanted to keep a manual transmission. Was concerned about VW reputation for problems, but so far, its been okay. Had to replace water pump this last year for $900, and there were two other minor issues (under $250 to fix), so keeping fingers crossed. The transmission and engine are terrific and, so far, seem bulletproof. Plenty of power and love the turbo. A little lag, but that just makes it more fun when it spools up. Manual transmission is wonderful, smooth shifting, excellent ratios. Teaching my wife to drive stick and she likes it. I encourage everyone out there to seek out manual transmissions. They are disappearing and they shouldnt. It makes driving more fun and your maintenance costs will be lower -- there is a lot less to go wrong with a manual. And any complaints you hear about auto transmissions -- taking too long, software must need an upgrade, blah, blah, blah -- disappear with the manual. You decide when to shift, not the car, problems all solved. Okay, moving on, I am very pleased with this car. It looks great, nice lines, best view is from side. I have silver. When clean, it kind of looks like a spaceship. Tough to get out of, but that is the trade-off. Very comfortable once you are inside, cool red lights at night. All electronics still work. Bluetooth good. My only complaints are you cant get sunroof with the manual and I really, really miss that. Also, would really like a back up camera, because the sightlines on this very sleek car are really bad. For those reasons, and as I approach 60K miles, I started looking for a replacement, but after testing 13 G37, 15 Mazda 6 and 12 A4, I am actually more satisfied than ever with my CC. Think I will keep it longer and see what happens.

  • Plastic Molding is Cheap - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

The plastic molding under the windshield is cracking and the dealership will no honor warranty. Also the molding under the rear window is cracking. Its probably due to our hot summers (100+). Still the car has only 8k miles and the warranty is crap, what happened to bumper-to- bumper. Why does car shake when moving after complete stop, I do use 91 gas.

  • Dont Hesitate - 2010 Volkswagen CC

I have been absolutely pleased with my new R-line VW CC!! I didnt know about the R-line until I went and test drove the CC. I was very slow and meticulous in my recent car buying decision. I test drove the Audi A4, Mercedes C class, I also drove the Honda Accord V6 Coupe, as well as the Hyundai Genesis V6 Coupe. I walked into the show room and there she was...Black on Black, VW CC- R line. The R line is a package with extra base and body molding around the vehicles exterior to enhance the look-Not that it needs help. As soon as the wheels hit the road I was in love with it, especially when kicking in the Sports mode on the highway. this car was the best Overall that I test drove!!

  • Great car....BUT! - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Have almost 20k miles on my CC. The car has incredible performance all while routinely getting about 30 mpg - have gotten as much as 38! However, there are issues when accelerating from dead stop which can be dangerous - if you dont press the gas just right, the car will stall or bog down on you for what seems like an eternity when making a left turn - DANGEROUS! Car has manual tranny, and yes I know how to drive! The car even sputters when holding the pedal steady and driving, so not sure if its an issue with injectors/turbo/or computers or combination. Id love to buy this car after lease is over, but if dealer cant fix it at next service, Ill be letting this car go - would be a shame.

  • I love, love, love my CC - 2010 Volkswagen CC

This car is seriously awesome. Handsdown, the best value in the market of a sport sedan. I was looking at the following 6MT vehicles: 2010 TSX 2010 BMW3 2010 A4 2010 CC The CC had the best fit-out inside, and the styling is seriously fierce. I am a SWF age 29 and people constantly stop me to see what kind of car it is. I only owned Japanese before making the change over to German, and I am highly pleased with my decision.

  • What a car! - 2010 Volkswagen CC

I was initially considering BMW 3 series or the Audi A4. They were way too expensive after adding all the features I wanted. So I decided to try out the CC. Oh my, was I in for a surprise. With less $ than A4 or the 3 series, I was able to get a fully loaded car with NAV and backup camera as well. This car looks awesome and rides and performs like a sports car especially in sports mode. Oh, did I tell you? I love it when people asks me, "what kind of car is that?". This car look much better than BMW 3 or Audi A4 in my opinion. Some people actually told me that they thought it was the Mercedes CLS. Puts a smile on my face every time I take it out for a spin.

  • Bang for the buck - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Have been waiting to put some miles(4K) before writing this review. Traded in 2k BMW 323 for a newer car with maintenance program and warranty. Considered Mazdaspeed 3, Subaru Legacy and WRX, Audi A3, as well as GTI and Golf TDI, but the lease, maintenance, and family size closed the deal. The car drives nicely with good performance from the turbo 4, however there is some turbo lag most noticeable on steep hills. Handling is very good but it is not a BMW. The steering feel is a bit light, not like the bimmer. So far no major maintenance issues. I have driven from SD to Paso Robles and averaged 32+ MPG @ 78MPH on stage 1 APR tune. Has all the basics I need for a good highway cruiser.
