This Year's Model Updates:

After debuting last year, the Volkswagen CC sees a handful of changes for 2010. Among them are the 2.0T's adoption of VW's six-speed automated-clutch DSG transmission (it replaces last year's conventional six-speed automatic), newly standard Bluetooth, a new touchscreen-operated audio system, new wood accents for the VR6 and new rear badging that shows "CC" and indicates the trim level.

Pros:
  • Peppy and fuel-efficient base turbo engine, powerful optional V6, balanced ride and handling, well-equipped, stylish inside and out, available all-wheel drive on VR6 model.
Cons:

  • To Good-looking to resist - 2010 Volkswagen CC

I had a 2003 Accord that was trouble-free and was planning to keep it for several more years. Then I saw the VW CC, read the reviews and comments and bought one.

  • Good not great - 2010 Volkswagen CC

Wife & I have had this car for over 3 months and it hasnt given us any problems. My wife loves it but I have some reservations. There are numerous things that need to be improved upon. This car does not offer a smooth nor quiet ride. The HVAC system is loud and cant keep up when outside temp is above 90. The far left and right air vents in the dash are worthless, as they cant be angled enough to hit the driver or front passenger. No seat memory. Not a fan of the seamless door windows, as one of windows already squeaks every time you get in or out of the car. 1st gear isnt very smooth and the engine shudders until the turbo kicks in. If I wasnt pressured by my wife I woulda kept looking.

  • Very Pleased with CC - 2010 Volkswagen CC

I have had my 2010 CC Sport for over 12 months and have been very pleased with it. It drives very similar to the Audis i have had in the past including an S4. It is not nearly as quick, but provides you with a very tight drive. If you are looking for a cushy ride this is not it. This is tight German sports car that has excellent steering feel. Gas mileage has been averaging 25 - 30 mpg with a 6 speed.

I just came from a BMW Z4M roadster and a BMW 330Ci and I am seriously impressed by this car. You will be hard pressed to find a more luxurious, smooth, and refined car for under $30,000. The car is not fast in the way that a 5-series BMW is, but it is no slouch either. The 2.0 L turbo is a gem of an engine, and the car is as smooth as butter. It does have a fair amount of body roll but then again this car is more Mercedes than it is BMW. The interior is first rate and has near Audi levels of style inside. With the 6-speed manual this car is actually quite fun to drive. There is quite a bit of understeer though, for obvious reasons. The exterior on this car is its piece de resistance!

  • My VW CC, 1 year 3 months, 20k, since - 2010 Volkswagen CC

Ive purchase my 2010 VW CC 2.0L Turbo Sport, 6M, brand new and heres what i have to say. I purchased this car simply because of its appeal and it has been a fun and reliable ride so far. I hadnt had any mechanical issues, just regular oil change, etc. Interior is quiet. Performance and fuel economy is sufficient just above 2k RPM. It has a lot of standard safety features that give me a peace of mind and its one of those cars you just cant ignore. Great job VW designing nice combination of stunning design and sufficient performance.

  • Great Design - Poor Engine - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Ive owned this car for about a month. Got it because of the design, nothing looks this good and exclusive for $30k (even compared to luxury brands). Interior looks good but having owned 3 Audis, the VW interior is not in the same league (and intentionally so). My biggest complaint is the engine (2.0T with Auto; I wanted an auto for commuting, my 2nd car is a manual). From a stop, the engine sputters and is seriously underpowered but when the turbo kicks in it takes off. Dont get me wrong, I love turbos like the next enthusiasts, but doesnt feel right in a car like this. Im sure the auto trans doesnt help. Despite engine performance/FWD handling, the design makes up for its shortcomings.

  • Great car to drive but super expensive to own and maintain - 2010 Volkswagen CC
    By -

We got our VW 2010 CC luxury with 36K on it and within 8K the car has cost us a fortune to maintain and repair. On top of the very high sticker price (with options our car was about 35K MSRP and thankfully we got it for 20K used) Since then the windshield, auto sensing wipers, two front power windows, sunroof sliding cover, brand new tires, alignment, DSG service, oil leak (not covered under powertrain) Need for synthetic oil and super unleaded gas have cost us and the dealer a fortune (us 3.5K carmax 2K). As the car gets older one can only expect more gadgetry to fail, and very expensive maintenance (similar to BMW, Mercedes, audi). It also rattles a lot up front and has tons of road noise.

  • not very reliable - 2010 Volkswagen CC

Had to be towed to dealership after 6000miles, it wouldnt move when engine was running. Mechatronics attached to DSG transmission had malfunction and was replaced. Everything else is ok so far. The car performs very good and is fun to drive, gas mileage is good too. Wind noise is too much when speed over 60mph.

I completely agree with the review posted by Chris on 9/20/10 (see below). I have now owned this car for one year and Im here with an update. I still love this car for its sleek looks and fuel economy. BUT, I really hate it for its harsh ride and excessive road noise. The frameless doors are cool but annoying, especially when they freeze up in the winter and dont lower as they should to allow you to get in. They also cause too much wind noise on windy days. The car also makes some rattling sounds on rough roads. It feels underpowered at low speeds. Next time I would consider a Ford or Buick simply for better noise insulation and smoother ride. The keys on CCs keyfob are also hard to push.
