A Great, Reliable Vehicle - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By tuttman - March 6 - 5:21 amPurchased new in 2005. Good power and performance. Gas mileage was as listed until year 2-3. Now averaging 22-23 MPG, but not bad for an AWD. Now after almost 7 years and 69,000 miles, its never needed anything but normal maintenance. Extremely satisfied with my RAV4. Brakes lasted almost 60,000 miles w/auto transmission! Paint and interior still in almost like new condition. The only issue is an exhaust "growl" at low RPMs. Not a big deal. Road noise is a bit loud, but the stereo works great to cover that. I love this car and would highly recommend it.

beach car - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By beach buggy - January 29 - 9:00 amThis is a right hand drive driven in Australia. Ive driven the rav in the rain, on the beach, dirt roads and from short trips to over 6 hrs at any time. It will go just about anywhere with great comfort. It has more than enough room and power from the 4 cyl. I can get about 500k from a tank of petrol.

Wifes Car - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By 5th Toyota Owner - October 21 - 2:50 amBought this car for my wife who is just over 5 tall. She really likes the RAVs styling and visibility from sitting up high. We both like the point and go handling. Throttle is very responsive... I found the dealers internet sales program very positive. Straight-up sales person claimed price was $300 below invoice, but added approx $300 advertising fee, which put vehicle right at Edmunds listed invoice price (including dest charge). Other dealers wanted to play stupid games and need to get a clue... We tried to find a vehicle with leather AND side curtain airbags, but dealer said Toyota isnt building them (cloth was OK). Side curtain airbags should be standard not an option (hello Honda).

Love my RAV - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Ifti - September 9 - 3:40 pmAfter months of due diligence I decided to go for RAV4. I am pleased with the decision I made and my friends and collegues are impressed too. Its zippy, good on mileage (22mpg city/30mpg highway), compact and good pick (better than my previous v6 dodge intrepid). Its great value for the price. Great looks and great performance backed by Toyotas reputation, I think its the best compact SUV in the market. Safety features, especially side curtain air bags, helped me get good insurance rates and peace of mind, of course.

A fun and sporty ride! - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Nancy - September 6 - 3:23 pmThis little SUV has quite a kick to it. Its a fun, sporty, reliable ride. At times, its a little bumpy...sort of a Jeepy feeling but I like that. The quality seems good and like it will hold up for years. The seats are easily removed or repositioned to create a surprising amount of space. And, even riding in the back seat is comfortable. My one complaint is that it is difficult to have the windows down--it seems much more noisy than usual and that probably has something to do with the design . . .

Love it! - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Kelly - August 24 - 12:36 pmI did extensive research prior to purchasing this car. I was wise in my decision to buy the RAV4. 1st, it gets great gas mileage. Very important when youre paying $3 a gallon. I get 20 mpg. 2nd, Its a smaller SUV, but, it is very spacious. I managed to carry an 8 ft. treadmill in it. 3rd, its sporty and SO much fun to drive. And its really CUTE! It really doesnt look like the SUVs out there. Youre higher up than in a car without being in a hulking, gas guzzling SUV. Last, Its a Toyota. Its got a great warranty, and I expect I will be driving it when its 10 years old or older with more than 100,000 miles on it. I highly recommend this car.
