Overview & Reviews
The JBL 3-in-1 audio system has been discontinued, and the sport package receives a unique metal mesh grille and silver sport pedals.
- Steers and handles like a car, thoughtful cabin design, exemplary build and materials quality, ABS and stability control standard, refined and fuel-efficient engine.
- Somewhat cramped interior, high repair costs in low-speed rear collisions, not much off-road ability.

Recommended Highly - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By JD - July 21 - 8:40 pmI have practically lived in my RAV4 the past year due to graduate school and driving around the East Coast to see family and for interviews. So I have ranked up the miles on this SUV and everything is perfect!:) I get a lot of compliments with the way it looks (I have it in black) to the way it drives. There is a ton of storage space if your moving a studio apartment around like I did. It is worth the money and you will save on gas!

One of the Best Cars Ive Ever Owned - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By David Chase - April 23 - 8:56 pmI purchased this car new and except for routine maintenance have never had a problem. My daughter was taking the car to college so I called a local Mechanic to see have the car checked out - I was concerned that the car had a serpentine belt that might need to be replaced. They informed me that the engine had a timing chain (lasts longer) and that the car wasnt scheduled for its first tune up until 120,000 miles! I purchased this car at the same time I bought a 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser - I made sure to purchase Toyotas that were made in Japan, not the U.S. (both were). I have had zero problems with both cars.

Perfect SUV for women - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Angela Therrien - April 16 - 11:46 pmI just purchased my 2005 Rav 4 last month. I am a 29 year old female with 1 child. So far I am very pleased with this vehicle. The design is very stylish, This SUV handles beautifully, smooth and quite, handles like a car but you have better visabilty and more room. Another reason I chose this model is the incredible safety features. It has specially designed crashzones and AWD for bad weather. Also this model does not have a higher rate of rollover like most SUVs. This SUV is perfect for women with 1 or no children. I could see it feeling a little cramped for larger families or for men over 62". My husband is 65" and fits ok for around town but would not want it for his primary vehicle.

Rav4-Toyota style - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Rustycab - December 6 - 11:16 amLove the car and it handles well. Enough room and height that you can see. Not so big that you cant park it and it is really fun to drive. Love it and I only have 3,000 miles on it.

RAV4 S - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By arthur cameron - November 2 - 11:13 amso far with 10k miles no problems to report typical toyota build , got the s model in blue which looks great, the driver seat and the insert on the drivers door is showing some wear already ? not the typical toyota. and since we live in the southeast had to watch out for options that wasnt from toyota which is basically aftermarket.*read your window stickers carefully* if your buying one, other than that a great vehicle very flexible and durable.

Replace water pump! - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Rav4 Owner - August 10 - 7:16 pmBought my Rav4 brand new in 2004 which is a 2005. Have had no major problems with it except for replacing the water pumps constantly! They are made very cheap, and its not cheap to replace either. And rear breaks are for sure bad as well like previous reviews have stated. Also, when it rains the car does not stay put on the road.

My 2nd Rav - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Laurie Bellucci - August 5 - 3:06 amI must tell you...I have had a Rav now for 4 years...Our first one was bought in 2002 after renting one in Las Vegas for a week we fell in love...My husband and I came home and purchased our first Rav 4...Since then he has passed on and I just purchased my 2nd Rav...I love it and hope to purchase another one in several more years to come...We checked other SUVs before purchasing a Rav only to find that most were too high off the ground for me to get into...so that was the main reason we purchased our Rav...

My RAV 4 - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Pat McGuiter - August 3 - 10:50 amThis truck is great. I had to rate this SUV a "10" in every category. I traded my 4 runner in for this car and I am so happy with it. Especially now that fuel costs are through the roof, its great on the highway. Best car I ever owned.

Thought more of a Toyota - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By John M - July 23 - 3:46 pmMy wife purchased this without test driving other cars. Fell in love at first 10 minute drive up the street. Almost 1.5 years later she has been constantly begging to trade in for something with more space (the folding back seats do not lie flat), better gas mileage, and a smoother ride. For a vehicle built on the corolla platform it rides more like a hummer (military version). She is so dissapointed, that she will not consider another Toyota.
