High Quality Product - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By john - March 24 - 9:06 pmBought the 6cyl LTD 4Runner new and have put 5000 miles on it. Very pleased overall with this SUV vs the Jeep GC I previously owned. This vehicle exudes quality and great driveability. Combines off road capability with car like comfort on the highway. My main beef is the comfort factor of the front bucket seats could be greatly improved-- not enough cushion and about 2 inches shorter than should be for my 6 foot frame. Also rear side view visibilty not adequate. But overall this is a great SUV. I expect many years of quality performance from this vehicle

Its not all perfect - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Canada - March 1 - 10:53 pmGas mileage for my 4Runner was equal to my previous Suburban. Passenger seat broke 3 months after purchase, rarely used. Drivers seat broke 2 yrs, & I had to pay half of $600.00 to fix it! Replaced brakes at approx 88,000 km, normal. Drives excellent, no major maintenance costs unlike the Suburban. But the side mirrors are in my face, and major blind spots. Friends who have driven my vehicle find the same problem. For this reason, I wouldnt buy another 4Runner. I have had too many near accidents due to this problem, and prior to this vehicle, Ive never had so many potentials! Stereo could be better. 1 to 2 minutes for 4WD to engage & disengage! Thats too long.

By thomas kamp - January 6 - 2:00 ammy husband bought me this for my birthday, what a guy huh??i absolutly love it ......i used to drive a nissan pathfinder and i must say the 4 runner tops it hands down.everything about it is great except for the gas miledge.

Not what they were in 89 - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Rob Gregory - November 3 - 9:50 pmWell, though its good, there are some quality issues. First month I had it, it would miss and accelerate on hills in the cold. Toyota fixed that. The rear seats only fold down w/ the headpieces off and front seats forward. New tires at 22K. New rotors and pads at 50K dealer tried to charge over $1,000 for that. Got it done for $550. Dirt piles up inside rear door/wheelwell. The interior fan motor now freezes when the temp is below 25*F. Toyota wont fix that. I need to pay $400 for their mess. My windows cant defrost in the morning now. Tire pressure light is on all the time cause I refuse to pay $190 for a new valve that Toyota needs to program to your truck.

By krissy - September 12 - 1:43 amPerformance and Reliability are perfect and it looks great, but I have found the Interior Design to be poor, the color is very light, the seating is not at all comfortable, the sound system vibrates in the seats when turned up. If youre packing to go away and you fill up the back, it blocks the radio reception because the antenna is on the back side window, so bring some CDs. Some more of the things I have found not to like is on the stick shift, 3rd is next to drive (same link) so you have to always remember to push it into drive or youll always drive in third. Finally the third row of seating has no floor space for your feet, it is flat. Other then that its Fun to Drive.

Perfect Mid-size SUV - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By wheatonbama - September 19 - 9:11 amThis is my second 4runner that I own and it was purchased for $6,000 with 205,000 miles. Well it still runs great and has no major mechanical problems. It is really a great SUV to own and is great on the highway where it averages between 23 and 26 mpg driving between 60 and 70 mph. it can get more if you driving 55 mph using cruise control. Hope it last for 300k.

needs larger seats,and mpg - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By wilm - June 8 - 10:00 ami found the limited to be full of conveniences and a few inconveniences. i have a 38" waist. the seat belt is hard to find and fasten when i get into the drivers seat.seats need to be a little wider. more options for the money spent would also be a plus. adjustable pedels should come standard with the limited. fuel milege is much worse than a jaguar xj8. which we thought was bad till the limited showed up in our garage.

Safe and most reliable - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

This has been our family car for the last 7.5 years and has NEVER failed us. The car now has 134,000 miles & the only maintenance weve done are tires, brakes, a break light & oil changes. I feel so safe in this car; rugged yet has navigation, power everything, rear view camera, great stereo. Although truck-like it has great turning radius & weaves in NYC traffic easily. Powerful V8 accelerates great to merge onto hwy. We tow trailer on camping trips each year! Cargo room is great for house projects & kid gear. Tough, safe, reliable, responsive. I LOVE MY 4RUNNER!

Very nice vehicle - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By JMont - December 31 - 4:03 pmSold my 2-seater sports car to upgrade to an SUV. Bought the vehicle used with 40K miles. The original owner took excellent care of the vehicle. Very happy with the vehicle so far. I have the limited version with almost every feature except the navigation and 4WD. Did not want the 4WD but the navigation would be nice. I think my only complaint would be the fuel mileage (15-16mpg) in the city but I knew what I was getting in to with the V8.
