04 SR5 4runner - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By keitho - July 16 - 2:00 amJust purchased the 05 SR5 4WD with the V8 and absolutely love it. Definitely better since the redesign in 03. Finally offered the 3rd seat option which is a definite plus. However, the 3rd seat eliminated the option for the sunroof(which I still dont understand) and any possibility to upgrade the stereo system! Ive also noticed that w/3rd seat, the middle row seat is definitely not as comfortable but certainly worth the trade-off. V8 is definitely the way to go versus the V6 with only a minimal decrease in gas mileage......Styling is awesome!

Good Choice - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By therock - July 11 - 2:00 amOverall, I love this truck. I look for excuses to drive it around town. It feels extremely well-built and confident in even the most severe conditions. I previously owned a Pathfinder that didnt feel nearly this "buttoned-down" in bad weather. The brakes are far superior to those on the Pathfinder as well. Interior space isnt as good as the Pathy but its definitely a sacrifice I am willing to make given all the other features the 4Runner has. Its a great choice if youre in the market for a mid-size SUV.

60k Report - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By NHSkier - May 15 - 1:46 pmI bought this almost 5 years before entering the Army. I now have 61k on it. Its been across the country four times (packed to the hilt with gear), over Hoosier Pass in a Colorado blizzard twice, offroad in CO and AZ. In that time, the only major repair happened at the 60k mark, a bad emissions sensor - $450. I had to also replace a cracked windshield, but I dont consider that the fault of the automaker. There are some minor cosmetic wear and tear issues. The "chrome" finish on the stick column is wearing off. The cover to the seat clamps (where they meet the floor) fell off. All in all, I would have been hard pressed to find anything else as reliable with the same capabilities.

Great SUV - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By excellent quality - April 20 - 7:56 pmBought my v8 4 a year ago and it is the best vehicle we have owned! 129,000 miles and still runs and drives like new! No problems at all and the 4 wheel drive works great in snow! Toyota knows how to build them! Strongly recommend this vehicle!

what a mistake - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Dougie G - April 10 - 2:00 amThe vehicle with 8000 miles. 4 wheel drive has gone out. parts coming from japan. Brakes soft, master cylinder bad. Very bad smell from engine. Told its sulfur and nothing I can do. Horrible gas mileage,17 mpg.Started to rust on the back. Told it was rail dust. It seems no one knows what that is. We have had it. I am buying a Sequoia.

8000 miles and its still good - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Bouch - April 10 - 2:00 amI bought teh 4Runeer anfter much research and largely based on what other consumers said in the is site. The experience so far has been pretty good. The 4Runner is fun to drive and it looks good. I towed a 2500 lb trailer 5300 miles. I averaged 9 mpg towing the trailer at 75mph. I get ~20 without the trailer. Id buy it again.

Worth the money! - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By sonya stilwell - April 3 - 9:50 amI bought my 4-runner new in May of 2004. After 6 years of ownership I can honestly say "this is the best vehicle I have ever owned." All I have ever done is changed the oil and put tires in it. I have around 87,000 miles, and every day I look forward to driving it to work. Also, the resale value is unbelievable. My next vehicle will be a 2010 4-runner when the new wears off of them and the price goes down a little! This vehicle in my opinion is an investment.

86,000 - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Shawn G - April 2 - 10:43 amI just bought my Toyota 4runner two days ago. I was in an auto accident and my 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee was totaled. I was a little bummed at first but that went away fast after I bought this vehicle. I was a little worried about buying a vehicle with 86,000 miles used but am I glad I did. This 4runner is smoother and tighter then any vehicle I ever drove even with high miles. I love the ride and the comfort of the 4runner. It feels like you found a SUV thats worth the extra money. I can honestly say unless I have a lot of problems with this SUV, Toyota has made me a life member in just two days. They are head and shoulders above the rest. I believe I will have many more miles left.

Best vehicle Ive ever owned - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Desert Lover - March 27 - 2:20 amThe list is long and growing. My 4runner Ltd. is a joy to drive. The steering and suspension are perfect downtown or off-road. Its a 4WD dream with good ground clearance, traction control and height control. In handles soft desert washes, hills and rough areas with ease. The interior is comfortable, well appointed and high quality. I bought mine used, in excellent condition. It has the premium stereo, back-up camera and GPS navigation system. The sound is great, the camera is VERY helpful and the navigation system is addicting. I wouldnt have believed how much easier and safer it is to have this wonderful and feature rich device. I spent a little more and got a whole bunch more.
