This Year's Model Updates:

As the Impreza was redesigned just last year, not much changes for 2003. Convenience has been improved; keyless entry is now standard equipment on the 2.5 RS, TS Sport Wagon and Outback Sport. For the WRX, Subaru will offer a standard rear spoiler on the sedan (though you can still get the car without, if you want) and Sonic Yellow is available as an exclusive WRX color.

Pros:
  • A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from.
Cons:
  • Often pricey when compared to its competition.

  • Incredible - 2003 Subaru Impreza

Ever since I was 14 I wanted this car. When I finally got in one I couldnt believe my luck. The handling was excellent, and the speed was incredible. I didnt know something could be that fast (stock) for under 25k.

A wonderful little car, able to lay dust to anything on the road. In stock form, its a fantastic ride. Great handling, power, and room for my dogs. The cool factor is even higher than you would expect froma Subaru. Three weeks, and Ive gotten multiple complements. Car can easily be modified safely to put out 300hp. Many supporting websites and tuners across the nation.

Great car to drive. Very nimble and easy to handle. Make sure seats fit your bottom before purchasing (kind of narrow for big bottomed buyers). Car could go beyond limits for un- experienced drivers. All round great car but if power is want you want, get a WRX. Last note, standard stereo not very good, upgrade aftermarket. Very little wind noise on highway.

This car is amazing! AWD and 227 hp. stock! I wasted a 5.0 mustang yesterday, and my car is still stock. So many performance mods for the car too, if youre a racing enthusiast. Im an avid snowboarder, and the car handles and accelerates superbly up the mountains, even in the snow. My Eclipse doesnt compare!

  • This car is awsome. - 2003 Subaru Impreza

I used to have a 350HP AWD Talon but this thing is great. It has loads of bottom end. Its o.k in the snow however I belive that the tires is what hurts it most in snow traction. However the AWD makes up for it. Very good interior build quality. Feels sound and sturdy, yet the seats are great for long distance travel. I have driven my car from MN to Chicago, IL many times and it was a wonderful car. After 3-4 hours my legs felt great no cramping or anything. Definatly worth the money for this car. I had looked at many other cars. and this blew everything out of the water for the price/quality.

  • The most fun Ive ever had driving! - 2003 Subaru Impreza

This car is the most fun of any car that Ive owned. Every car I have ever owned has utilized forced induction but this one is by far the most entertaining. I went with the wagon because my wife was having our first kid and I wanted the utility. I must say though, the trunk isnt THAT big. I can fit more stuff into my 97 Honda Civic. Also, rear leg room is meager and is only recommended for short trips. If youre really looking for a long trip family car go with an SUV or Minivan.

its a great feeling to have knowing that you have the quickest and fast ride at any intersection almost all the time (except for those expensive 350hp plus sports cars, and coupes). looks arent that bad and is unique, interior not that cheap and is functional, performance/handling/acceleration is outstanding, seats are comfortable. acceleration is quick after 3000pms, so it needs a good reving up. ive had my WRX for 3 weeks and ive been taking cats out

Four doors, all-wheel drive, anti-lock brakes, side impact air bags, 227 hp, good fuel economy, cool styling....for around $25,000. Why would anyone buy anything else?

I bought this car thinking "this is it!". I admit it is a fun and fast car. But Ive found it had a lot of little problems. The steering isnt always there to help you with agressive turns, shifting can be missed when pushed a bit more agressively and it is already showing signs of wear... which makes me wander how reliable it will be as years pile up. My friend bought and Evolution, I recently got a chance to drive it... and inmediately I realized my mistake. The Evo is much more refined in all aspects and has a better steering feel. I think my WRX is a great car, but I think the EVO will always be more refined... even when the 290Hp STi comes out.

  • Subaru cant fix it? - 2003 Subaru Impreza
    By -

I want to believe the car is well built and reliable, but sometimes it doesnt start, it just turns over and shakes the entire vehicle - then it starts. Subaru cant duplicate it, cant fix it, so I dont know what to think about them now. Ive got 13,000 miles on it already.
