Overview & Reviews
As the Impreza was redesigned just last year, not much changes for 2003. Convenience has been improved; keyless entry is now standard equipment on the 2.5 RS, TS Sport Wagon and Outback Sport. For the WRX, Subaru will offer a standard rear spoiler on the sedan (though you can still get the car without, if you want) and Sonic Yellow is available as an exclusive WRX color.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition.

Proud To Be A WRXer - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Jonny Gray - March 31 - 10:00 amMy boys talked me into this car. I changed jobs and actually had a company BMW 741 IL - a fast but heavy lux car. When I had a very limited budget and a lot of weather to content with, I needed a high performance AWD car. Man has it been great! The car performs like a race car - very quick once the the turbo kicks @ 3000rpm, the tires are sticky around any curves, and the brakes put you in FULL control... I love this car so much, I will be moving up to the STi (as soon as my wife lets me...) If you have a chance, buy this car. You will not regret it - unless you try to fit 3 boys, wife and dog in it. Wont work! Enjoy

Drive it, youll like it! - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Funwagon - March 28 - 2:00 amAlthough I have owned 2 Subarus, I thought I was going to end up in a Jetta 1.8T, or used Audi A4. Jetta summary - higher perf and a higher price, no AWD, not as safe, or reliable. Comparably priced A4s were 1999 vintage, a bit long in the tooth. I considered the protege5, but looking at the safety data quickly ended that. The wagons cargo options are extremely flexible. My 55 lb. dog fits comfortably in the back. The drivers seat is comfortable and visibility is good. The instrumentation is adequate. Although I read lukewarm reviews of the acceleration I suspect they were based on the automatic transmission. I find the M5 to be more than satisfactory.

Sonic Yellow screamer!!! - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By R. Murphy - March 22 - 10:00 amThe best small sedan for 25,000 dollars bar none. I have test driven everything from the Ford Focus SVT to a 325i, the list wouldnt fit here, and the WRX is a no brainer!!!

Nice, solid car - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Alex - March 9 - 2:50 amI purchased this car back in 2002 and never regretted it. I spent quite a bit of time researching various cars before getting my Outback Sport and am pretty happy with the car and its overall performance after having it for more than 3 years and driving 32k miles. Its my third car and second Subaru. Very reliable and nice car. Fast acceleration (on manual transmission) and very solid driving on snow (tested in Tahoe area). Probably has the best performance/price ratio of all AWDs on the market.

Rally Car DuJour! - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By BR549 - February 2 - 10:00 amI traded my 2000 Honda Civic EX in for this car and have NEVER regret it! I spent a year in England and remembered watching Rally races on TV. This car is without a doubt the best Ive owned so far. Its got sexy styling and after installing the short throw shifter, the changing of gears is a dream. My wife who does not care for manual transmissions even longs to drive my car! If you have one and have not tried it on a dirt road, DO SO! Other than that, it is a Mustand and Camaro killer. And I do not care what any EVO fan has to say, the rally races are still won by the Subie 90% of the time!

for the money, cant beat it - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Tony Parks - January 27 - 10:00 amI love the car. It gives me a perfect blend of the performance I love and the ability to go off road if needed. I recently took it to West Virginia, where I go white water rafting/rock climbing yearly, and let me tell you, up in those hills my car and I had a great time! I also took in on some pretty rough roads and off road a little bit and I was surprised. How can something that handles so well on the road do so well off of it. I just wish that it came with a more performance based tire. The bridgestones are horrible! I cant wait for a set of pirellis.....

Love the performance, hate the repairs - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By rgdave - January 27 - 10:00 amThe winding, mountainous roads around me are a kick in my WRX, with power, pickup and handling. (Even Porsche and BMW driving friends LOVE driving it!) But gravel and rutted roads are tough on the tires (on my 2nd set), brakes (going in for its 2nd brake job at 27,000 mi.) and alignment (cant seem to hold it.) Could use a little more ground clearance. Doubt Id buy it again because of the brake and tire problems.

bang for the buck!!! - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Doogie - January 8 - 10:00 amthis car will get the most bang for the buck.at the price of $25000 you will not find any other car out there that can come close.0-60 mph 5.6 secs and you can drive it in snow when most sports cars can not move an inch.thanks to the all wheel drive rain, snow, gravel and mud are no problem.once you hit 3000rpm get ready to be pushed back in your seat and watch the speedometer climb fast. to sum this car up go get one and you will not be dissapointed!
