Overview & Reviews
Subaru completely redesigns the Impreza and brings a high-performance turbocharged WRX variant into the fold to offer enthusiasts the opportunity to drive a powerful, all-wheel-drive sport sedan without breaking the bank. All Imprezas benefit from improvements in performance, refinement and safety. Along with the Impreza's trip upmarket come revised trim levels consisting of two sedans (WRX and 2.5 RS) and three wagons (WRX, Outback Sport and 2.5 TS Sport Wagon). The coupe body style has been dropped.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel drive, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from.
- No more coupe, extroverted styling may be too much for some.

practical, fast and amazingly agile - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By buckalau - November 1 - 10:00 amI bought this car after trying to decide between the Volkswagen GTI and WRX. But after online research and test drive there was no comparison. This car rocks! i can go to the snow with no worries and can haul around my junk with all the cargo space, and with a permanent grin on my face. The car is super quick and hangs the corners.

WOW!! - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By vursion7 - September 13 - 2:00 amThis car does it all!! Used it to get to the trailhead of a fourteener and somehow it made it all the way up. At times there were some Wranglers struggling to make it. Once, at the top people were coming over to check out the car (sports car) that made it to the top. Truely unbelievable!

Toss your $$ on a fire b4 buying this!!! - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By Hugdeath - September 2 - 10:00 amBottom of drivers seat 2 narrow. Lost "9K" in value in 14 months. Worse than a large american SUV. 2 much buffeting with front windows down. Flimsy/poorly sized cupholders. Cheap paint. Svc dept placed me in "LEGACY STATION WAGON" for a week and a half while they kept vehicle over multiple nights for 4th time. Fun 2 drive at moderate speeds. No fun at low speed. Too sketchy at high speeds.

What an Upgrade - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By Les - August 31 - 11:06 ami just bought a used 2002 WRX wagon. WHAT A RIDE! got a sweet deal on it. At first I was considering the Mazda3 but I was big on performance. What an upgrade compared to my slow 1994 Honda accord. My commute is so much fun now! Driving in the rain is not a problem with the AWD...so far so good. Filling my tank up with premium gas will hit the wallet hard, but the good outweighs the bad.

Fun to drive, not fun to maintain - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By Dave - August 18 - 1:16 pmThe car is fun drive in the worst of weather. Handling and acceleration are good with the 5 speed manual. Its been a good car for ski trips and mountain bike weekends.

Love my WRX! - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By David1 - July 27 - 2:00 amGas mileage is excellent given that its a turbocharged 4 - ride quality is first rate - handles well when you push it, but is comfortable as a daily driver. And you just cant beat AWD in the rain/mud/snow!

My Review - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By omar777 - July 23 - 8:10 pmOverall a good car. Bought it used and so far have not had any major problems with it. Parts and labor are a little expensive. Not too much visibility from the drivers seat when backing up. Seats not very comfortable.

Best in class and several classes above - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By SilverF4Turbo - July 2 - 10:00 amThis car is simply the greatest gift to driving ever. It is a perfect balance between daily driving functionality and gutwrenching high performance (and when the pedal meets the metal and the turbo fully spools you do feel your gut wrench). So much emphasis has been put on the performance (and rightfully so) that other aspects of the car have been shadowed out. The shape and layout of the dashboard is more remeniscent of a de-trimmed Porsche boxter than of a Japanese four door. The exterior is beautiful: aggressive yet not overstated; the way a true rally car is supposed to look.. with performance and handling to match.

Great car value that can be souped up!!! - 2002 Subaru Impreza
By Dash - June 14 - 2:00 amUnder $2,000 and I was able to get my wrx up to 420 hp!!! Try doing that with a Nissan!!!! Also the handeling is like a dream... its grat to take to rally races, and can be terrably abused! Its a very easy vehicle to upgrade by yoursef. The layout of the engine is made for tweeking, and its made to withstand up to 700 hp!!! That will knock the doors off of a Ferrari, or Lamborghini any day!
