  • Never again - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

Over a period of 22 months the vehicle has been 18 visits (6 of them combined with regular services) resulting in 22 days at the dealer, the vehicle generated 45 warranty-related repairs. The tires lasted 30K miles and required new brake pads at 27K miles. It is apparent that this car, if not legally a lemon, is definitely a buyback case due to the nuisance factor caused by poor quality. Nissan refuses to admit this. With 26 months left at the average rate of warranty incidents, the car is projected to return another 14 times (excluding scheduled maintenance). I strongly urge any prospective minivan driver to avoid the Quest on the grounds of poor build and service quality

  • Poorly Enginneered AC Lines - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

My Quest with only 3000 miles on it has already lost the air conditioning. The freon lines that run to the rear evaporator are routed so close to the stabilizer bar, that a hole was rubbed through the AC line, resulting in a loss of all the freon. According to Nissan, the line can only be obtained from Japan and will require pulling the engine to replace it. It has now been 30 days with no ETA for replacement parts. I can not recommend this vehicle to anyone until a recall is made for rerouting the rear AC lines is performed. The dealer shop mechanics could not believe the poor design and the neccessity to pull the engine for repairs.

  • Bad Experiences - 2004 Nissan Quest

Ive had in the shop so many times with the following problems: - 3 times in shop on "Service Engine Soon" light came up - two or 3 times in shop with steering problems - three times in shop for intermittent power window locking up problem - one time with SRS (Air- bag) lamp on - Door rattles even after the Nissan Recall Initiative - 2 times Interior Dome lights problems - Heater outlet behind first row seats can only be control from front and no heat comes out of ceiling vent - Computer Tire monitor keeps telling flat tire during cold weather - etc. Nissan wont accept responsibility or replace vehicle. Will involve BBB, next News media, and then lawyers. Trip to Disneyworld had 4 problems.

  • Nice Looking but Poor Quality - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

The quality of this car is horrible. Sliding doors rattle constantly. The car has been to the dealership for numerous recalls and fixes (at least 2 weeks). The dealer offered a "Spam Can" (Nissan Sentra)as lender while car was being fixed and this is unacceptable. I will never buy a Nissan again. The extended warranty that was recently appended to this lemon of a car was nice but I would rather buy a Honda Odysey or Toyota Sienna and I would suggest you test drive each before making a final decision. In addition, dont be fooled by the posted Fuel Economy Rating (20+). Im averaging 15mpg.

  • Quest needed repair - 2004 Nissan Quest

The speedometer quit working at 902 miles. Dealer replaced. One of the sky windows leaked and damaged a rear seat. Dealer replaced and repaired window. Gas mileage not what I expected.

  • Wish I was a lucky one!! - 2004 Nissan Quest

I bought this van used, in 08, with 34K miles on it, and 4K down with an extended warranty. I loved my Quest, it was perfect for us and fit my stylish personality. However, I started having issues with the van making noises. I kept taking it to the dealership but they couldnt figure it out. Well, 2 months after my warranty was up, with 90K miles on it, they tell me the van needs $4K worth of work but Nissan wouldnt honor my warranty that never got used. Issues: 80K heat compressor failed, 98K alternator failed, interior lights falling out of ceiling, tailgate replaced twice 1st at 45K, 110K failed timing chain! Engine work at 100K miles on a Nissan?! Now making payments on undriveable van!

  • New Quest hesitate to drive in 3 months - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

I liked the Van initially when I bought 3 months ago, but now some what I am going away from its first impression. The van started hesitating to drive and I had to tow it to the dealership. Believe me it was not a happy scene as everybody was looking at the tow truck with this van being towed. It took more than a week to fix the problem. Very disappointing!

  • I am disappointed with my 04 Quest - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

We bought the 04 Quest because Consumer Reports on previous years models were so good. The exterior look was so cool, and the interior is unique, comfortable, and large enough for our needs. However, the body integrity has proven a great disappointment. We have been getting water in our trunk area, which weve brought back 3 times and still havent gotten satisfaction. The small air vents in the ceiling fall off occasionally. The passenger side air bag light does not go off, even when a 165 lb. person is sitting in the seat. And it seems that all of the recalls require the dealership mechanics to rebuild this car every time I have to bring it in. Im thinking of selling soon.

  • I wish I had never bought IT!!! - 2004 Nissan Quest

It was love at first sight but I think I was completely blind. We have had nothing but trouble from this van since day 1. Our van has been the shop around 100 time and that is not including regular maintance. Our sliding doors have came apart and we have had doors adjusted and not been able to open them. The trunk leaked and messed the carpet up and that is just to start. On top of that we have not had the best of service workers. We have had nothing but trouble with them. As we speak it is in the shop once again. I cant wait till we can get rid of it. Oh yeah and the trade it value had dropped b/c of the problems. I will never buy a Nissan agian.

  • The right rear door - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

In two months my car has been back 4 times for the same right rear door problem. It intermittently decides to not latch, leaving the door to slide front and back while driving. Very unreliable after 3 years of a good relationship.
