  • LONG TIME PARTS - 2004 Nissan Quest

We waited over 2 months for a part to be delivered from who knows where (JAPAN? It was a simple AC line! I am furious! RUINED our vacation plans - had to take two vehicles for our large family!

  • Nissan admits 04 Quest a "Problem" car - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

We have had nothing but problems with our 04 Quest SE. 2.5 years later and Nissan has finally admitted to us (sales and service people) that the 04 Quest has had many problems with their electrical and drive motors for several of the amenities (auto open side doors and hatch, heating system, etc.). Nissan corporate will do nothing for us even though we have written many letters and made many phone calls to both teh corportae level as well as the Smithtown Long Island store where we bought the car. Smithtown also cheated us when purchasing the car buy out and out lying about several factors. We have proof but no one will listen from Nissan. I was a loyal Nissan driver, but no longer.

  • Average van at high price - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

We traded in a Silhouette for this. We have been quite disappointed. Wife liked the colr, styling and all the "bells and whistles." Unfortunately, she has been looking to trade it after just 3 months. Depreciated too much and any trade under 6 months voids the warranty to prospective owner. This van and subsequent poor Nissan service is not worth the exhorbitant pricetag.

  • love it & hate it - 2004 Nissan Quest

saw it said "yuck", drove it said,"hum! took husband back that evening, he drove, said,"ok". Took it home. Talk of the town, lots of stares & inquiries. Unfortuneately, weve encountered several problems with 1 being a constant repeat problem...dome lights come on by themselves a lot!!! The dealer has had mine for 55 days! Tying to find out the problem. Told,5 differents reasons so far. My husband keeps asking"why did we trade in our OLDS. SILHOUTTE that had no problems?" I call it "MY THANG",its like a muscle- car-van-suv. Love the idea, hate the 1st year glitches.

  • Look for another van - 2004 Nissan Quest

We got this van because it didnt look like your typical minivan. I should have done more research. First of all I have had to replace both sets of brakes twice with only 52,000 miles. My mechanic told me that they would have to be replaced every 20,000 miles. The van is very heavy. After needing new tires, I found out that Goodyear is the only one who makes this size tire. So I had to buy them. The tire pressure indicator goes off when the outside temp drops below 70 degrees. The dealer tells me there is nothing wrong with it and just resets it. So I am in there within a week doing the same thing. I will never know when I flat tire. I am now looking at the Hondas.

  • Great vehicle. Poor auto sliding doors. - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

Before purchasing the Nissan, we drove the other two logical choices (Toyota, Honda). We found the ride, & handling of the Nissan to be superior. However,we live in the Northeast U.S and discovered that the automatic sliding rear doors do not close when the temperature dips below 30 degrees. Weve been back to the dealer umpteen times for repairs. They still have not corrected the problem. So, unless youre living in Sub-Saharan Africa, do not purchase this vehicle with power sliding doors.

  • Like it - 2004 Nissan Quest

We definitely like this minivan. I also have a chrysler town and country limited, 1999. The nissan has more interior room and the access is great. Wish it had more insulation to give a more solid feel and sound. We tested toyota and honda before buying. Overall the nissan was the winner.

  • Good Luck - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

I have had this vehicle for 2 1/2 years. Pros, Good handling, power, average 19 mpg, lots of room, exterior styling. Cons, The paint scratches and chips easily, slightly high road noise on than Highway, Relaibilty/quality is bad. Interior trim pieces come unsnaped often, Ac has been repaired 5 times. The clock is always fast. Computer is quirky, doors need to be realigned or adjusted frequently. Its had at least 6 recalls, doors rattle, strang vibration noises. etc. Service rep stated," we have had issues with these vehicles" Its at the dealership being repaired often. Nissan does little when you call in concerns?

  • Quest SL 3.5 - 2004 Nissan Quest

I had already decided on another van, but drove the Quest as a last minute thought. I was glad I did! I was worried about it being a 1st production year for the vehicle, but took a lot of comfort in knowing the drivetrain has been around for years. That engine is awesome! Good styling in and out, although a bit too much cheap looking plastic on the interior trim. Vehicle handles well with minimal body roll.
