  • Too many problems - its a lemon! - 2004 Nissan Quest

Currently going through the process of getting van bought back by Nissan through LEMON LAW. Been in for service 9 times (27 total days in shop)! SLIDING DOORS rattle, squeek, shake, grind and do not open, close, align, or latch properly. Sliding doors are extremely UNSAFE. Van has had 6 RECALLS performed, along with the entire drivers side REPAINTED due to rock chips since doors were misaligned. Nissan extended OEM warranty to 5yrs/60k miles, but that doesnt account for the POOR BUILD QUALITY. Vehicle pulled to the left, transmission pan leaked, CV boot ripped, sun visor label fell off, left rear quarterpanel loose - PROBLEMS are too many to list. Buy a HONDA or TOYOTA!!!

If you are looking for a high quality vehicle with great reliability look somewhere else. Our van has been into the shop too many times to count since we purchased it. The majority of the problems have been with rattles and creaks on the doors as well as the front doors not opening from the inside when you pull on the handle. There was also a problem with the transmission not shifting. The airbag light was also flashing which required two trips to fix. First was the wiring harness followed by the controller. The dealership was far less than helpful in getting these problems resolved. There basic mode of operation is that this is normal and we are too picky. Argh!!!

When I first bought this vehicle I thought I was getting a good deal. I have had my car for 5 years and now I am told that I need $5000.00 dollars of engine work done on it. I have completed all my maintenance schedules. I paid the higher price for repairs and maintenance by getting all my work done at the dealer. I have had to replace the stereo twice in the last 5 years. The rubber molding around the door has come off numerous times. Maybe the newer models are better but make sure you get the warranty to cover yourself to 100000 miles, I didnt and now I have to pay. The car should have lasted longer than 5 years.

My family was in a car accident head on FORTUNATELY no one was hurt. However, no ones airbags deployed. Read the reviews before you BUY. If my car is totaled. I will buy a toyota or honda

  • Think about the Sienna or Odessy first! - 2004 Nissan Quest

Not a bad vehicle if only Nissan could improve build quality! We had the interior lights falling out of the ceiling. Knobs coming off. Numerous times the engine would not start and would take about 4 minutes of trying. One time, while driving the van lost all power. Regardless, of what I did nothing helped. After leaving if off for about 5 minutes, it worked fine. The dealer has had similar compliants and said there has been no guidance from Nissan as to what is wrong/correct fix. Cannot recommend this vehicle because of reliability.

  • DO NOT BUY A NISSAN QUEST - 2004 Nissan Quest

I have had nothing but trouble since purchasing this car. 2 months after purchase, car broke down numerous times. After taking it in for service a couple of times without a diagnosis, it turned out to be the fuel pump. The only way they figured this out was by receiving a recall notice from Nissan. One year later, I received a recall notice about possibility of sliding doors not working in cold weather. When I brought the car in, I found out there were a total of 6 recall items!! In addition, they were rude and would not guarantee the car back that day even though I called a day earlier for an appt. Horrible customer service is worse than the car itself. I am selling soon!

  • Worst Quest by far - 2004 Nissan Quest

3 days on the road, the engine malfunction light went on. The computer had to be reprogrammed and an engine part replaced. Took 4 days to diagnose and repair! Now 2 weeks later, found out the right sliding door itself unbelievably scratching the side of the body making scratch marks both inside and out! Armrest, sliding door, rear window on left side are too loose while those on the right too tight. Gas consumption is almost 40% more than the spec, and definitely more than my moms SUV. Felt totally betrayed by its looks.

  • Looks great -too stylish to be practical - 2004 Nissan Quest

Best looking minivan out there, but rattles like a 6 yr old Chevy van. Engine is racy, but interior is not family friendly. Whoever chose light dove grey for an interior color doesnt have kids! Front end shakes and will need realignment often - factory defect, but dealer wont fix. Plastic and hard to clean interior, rattles all over place-think twice before buying! Looks better than all others, but not practical!

  • Poor Quality - 2004 Nissan Quest

First six months has required two major repairs: Oil leaking from engine gasket, and bad alternator. I have 5,000 miles on this car and it has a bad alternator...The Dealer will offer a loaner that is usually a 4 door Sentra...really not a comparable car, note even close! If this POS car is going to be a lemon at least I can get a decent loaner!
