My husband and I purchased a 2004 Quest sl after owning a 2001 odyssey that had its fair share of problems as well, and they were major problems as well transmission. Honda was much better at standing behind thier vehicle. Our quest has had doors checked three times, starter replaced after fighting the dealership after it broke while I was christmas shopping (we had to pay the tow bill Nissan was to refund the money it still hasn`t been done!), And materials in the interior are begining to fall apart the moldings in the rear doors, the heating ventin the passenger`s side in the front, and the engine having problems shifting as it starts out in lower gear.

    1) Both side sliding doors are making such a bad noise that it seems that the door is going to fall down any minute now... 2) The second problem is performance. Even though the car is OK performance wise, but lets say you drive 30mph and press the gas pedal little bit, the noise that comes from the motor is seems you are going uphill... 3) Driver seat and the passanger seat desings are so poor that you will never be able to rest your head on the headrest. 4) The drivers seat does not go back too much, so it seems you are stuck there... 5) On the back seat, it is too rough.

Beware, I have has many bad experiences with my brand new Nissan Quest. Nissan keeps giving me the run around. My car has been in for repair 4 times since I purchased it. While at the Nissan repait shop, I encountered another unhappy new car pruchaser from Nissan. He had also had his brand new Maxima in the repair shop 4 times and Nissan does not have a clue as to what the problem is. I myself have has a radio replaced, which still is not working and also a fuel pump. This is a brand new vehicle!!!

I bought this early this year. Started noticing the problems right away. Leaky sunroof, creaking sliding doors, cheap plastic inside and lots of rattle. Minivan is new so dealer does not know how to fix properly. Often it takes months to get parts. Already made multiple trips to dealer. Not sure when what will break.

The maintenance costs of a Quest are unbelievably high. It is the first car Ive owned which needs a brake pad & rotor replacement every year, and new tires every year and a half. (None of previous vehicles have chewed through these like the Quest!) The car rattles, and we had to take our to the dealership for engine noise multiple times before they *finally) believed us based on a new service bulletin that went out. Too bad - its a stylish minivan, and we had high hopes for it. Its functional for our family, but we just wish it was lower-maintenance.

  • A huge disappointment! - 2004 Nissan Quest

This van has had more problems than any vehicle we have ever owned. All the recalls, rear door motor had to be replaced, rattles in doors "fixed" numerous times, automatic sliding door reverses for no reason, both sliding doors have rubbed over rear wheel well causing paint to be scratched, fixed once, but doing it again, getting it fixed has been a nightmare. Most recently, automatic drivers seat was leaned back to reach something and now will not move forward, switch is dead, creating a major safety issue. Nissans answer? Drive the 80+ miles to the dealership with the seat back in an unsafe position. Horrible gas mileage. Nissan U.S. no help. Shame on you Nissan.

Very dissappointed! I think its been in the shop as much as its been driven! Entire harness had to be replaced, took 3 months for them to even get one! and that was after I filed a complaint with the BBB. Wouldnt go in park 2 days after I bought it, gear shift came off in service managers hand! Shoved and bruised by sliding door! Im thinking, I should not be hating a van I paid so much money for! Always trusted Nissan until now, they need to replace this van, so I can get the true feeling of it and my moneys worth!

This VAN is a lot of fun to drive. It handles very well at curves. However the moment we left the dealership we heard the doors rattling and squeaking even on smooth roads. I Have taken it back to the dealership 4 times but no result. Infact the dealership gave me a bottle of rubber spray and told me to use it every few days and see if it helps. I should have never bought this VAN if I had to do such things. Infact I wantede to tradeid in my corolla and buy maxima as second vehicle. Now I am looking at acura, lexus etc . NO NISSAN EVER.

We are lifelong Nissan customers, but after this car we are switching. The problems weve had include 2 new sets of tires in 50,000 miles, wheel alignments every other time we change the oil, leaking roof, leaking driver and passenger door seals, left front wheel clunks when turning hard left and the car "floats" when its loaded down. This last issue is particularly troubling because when the car has 4 men in it and suitcases, it does not handle the road well. Turns and bumps cause it to fishtail and you truly feel like the car is floating. Very disappointing.

  • Do not buy the 2004 Quest - 2004 Nissan Quest

We bought this van in Jan 04 after the first couple of weeks the quality began its decline, parts began to loosen and fall off, horn died, handle stuck, handle broke and the sliding door drivers side rattles since the beginning and they cannot fix. We are very dissatisfied with this van and Nissan has not made any effort to help. We have now spent a lot of time and energy going back and forth to have it fixed and the problems only continue. I am stuck but I write this to save others what I am going through...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE AND DO NOT BUY THIS VAN!!!!!
