  • Run From This Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Quest

Had all the quality problems others talk about here, but the killer for us was the right front tire going flat. There is a problem with the tire pressure sensors and it could not be fixed. After eight attempts to fix it they finally replaced the entire tire and wheel. This worked for a while so I didnt go to arbitration which I probably should have. When the flat tire sensor came on again, my wife refused to drive the car ever again. I had to unload it. It had 8K miles, I got $21,5K in trade, and I bought an Escalade for its reliability and build quality. Is that irony? I lost the value of my trade ($12K, 2001 Honda Accord). Obviously this vehicle is a piece of crap and Nissan knows it.

  • Frequent and Lousy Repairs - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

Where to begin? AC never worked. Dealer couldnt/wouldnt repair. When finally dumping it, I had three other dealers advise, oh the AC on that doesnt work.... Under the dash maintenance lousy. parts actually fell off. Finally took it to a tire shop who fixed front vibration (in shop 6 times for), Tire shop balanced one tire and fixed the problem. Maybe the problem is Nissan of Clovis (CA). But then Factory Rep failed to respond after three weeks.

After purchasing this minivan for what we thought was superior design, quality and innovation we are very disappointed. The cd/radio was replaced, the rear heat is terrible (blows cool air) which the dealer told us is normal, the tires are garbage, the panel on the rear door over the license plate light pulled off and now the three dials associated with the temperature controls on the center consule are not lighting. That is the first and last of Japanese vehicles.

  • Disappointing - 2004 Nissan Quest

The new Quest looks great for a minivan but overall quality is disappointing. Interior features fell cheap and we had to replace some interior seat parts within a few months of ownership. Rear lift gate power strut broke, transmission gets stuck in 2nd gear, gas gauge stays on empty after filling up, nothing major yet but just lots of annoyances.

  • Unhappy with my Quest - 2004 Nissan Quest

I bought this vehicle with the notion that Nissan was a great name. I had had an Xterra & it was my favorate vehicle to date. My Quest has just fallen apart at the seams. From failing to start, doors not working, problems with the airbag, the front end shaking & the back end sounds like its ready to give way. The CD player works when it wants to as well as the LCD screen. Wish I hadnt have bought it now.

  • Nissan Quest aka A Lemon - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

Bought this as soon as it was introduced. have about 33k miles so far. Been in dealership for warranty related service, regular service, recalls for 20 times- ~ 35 days. Had replaced wheel bearings and transmission control module already. Replaced door weather stripping, CD/Radio already. Doors and seats rattle all the time. Nissan is not able to fix it so far after 6 attempts. Never seen such a poor quality car. Buy a Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Ford or GM minivans but never this. In fact I will never buy another Nissan again. Also, customer service dept at Nissan USA is really bad. Soon Nissan will lose all its goodwill and will end up bankrupt negating their amazing financial turnaround.

  • Why did I buy this Junk? - 2004 Nissan Quest
    By -

Where do I start? From the beginning, front wheel vibration, part fell out of Dash, took 4 months for dealer to replace, A/C wont blow cold when exterior temp is over 90 (I hear there is some sort of common sensor/relay problem). Rattle in back turned out to be 3rd row seat bolt was broken (i hear a common problem). Exterior L/S failed in first weeks. Took dealer 4 months to replace. Brakes shimmy when braking. I hear this too is a common problem. Dealer is either incompetent or under directions from Nissan to Deny, Deny, and obfuscate. Car 3 months old, and has been in shop over 7 times for same or related problems. None have been truly fixed. Plan, dump this junk, take a loss.

  • A lemon for sure - 2004 Nissan Quest

I handled all the small problems like rattling doors, doors that had their own mind and spontaneously opened, moonroof that leaked, doors that squished my children but at 100000 miles my entire computer system/ electric system was corroded and left the van inoperable. Nissan Corp has not helped AT ALL. The part was ordered by a dealer and it is now on 2 months of being unavailable with no excuse or reason why. We have made every effort to speak with Nissan to get answers to no avail- nothing past the call center who claims they resolved our problem- part will be in in 3 more weeks Only that was said 1x already. I just cannot wait to get the car fixed + gone!

  • not what i expected - 2004 Nissan Quest

The design was good..engineering not so good. Transimission problems still persists even after replacement. Nissan does not offer a solution that would make us whole again after buying this vehicle. We are still going thru the replacing this vehicle process under the lemon law. I has taken an attorney and lots of phone calls to get something out of Nissan. They know and have admitted to having a problem with this vehicle but do not want the vehicle back. They are reluctant to work with us. FYI..tell them the news media will be involved..that seemed to help them speed replacement up..

  • Big Disappointment - 2004 Nissan Quest

Bought loaded SE with nav, dvd, etc...Looked at 04 Sienna and Town and Country and decided on the Quest based on features, room and price. Since taking delivery we have had multiple problems...rattles, steering column lockup(could not put the car in park), Shifter nob fell off, skyroof leak (we are now on our 4th panel), front seatbacks came out of seat. Has been in the shop for 8 days so far. I have become good friends with rental car agency. I would highly recommend paying the extra money for the Toyota until Nissan has worked out the numerous bugs in this car. I am going to Nissan Consumer Affairs with this car given all the problems in just three month
