Overview & Reviews
The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder receives only minor refinements. These include a new front grille, steering wheel and a revised audio system with new faceplate and faster functioning in-dash six-disc CD changer. The SE trim, now the base Pathfinder since the XE has been dropped, features a new titanium-accented step rail and roof rack with integrated air dam, body-color bumpers and fender flares, new 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and new seat cloth. Not to be outdone, the luxurious LE has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard equipment this year.
- Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
- Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

Sweet Ride! - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By gilmore - February 27 - 2:13 amI bought this pathfinder for my wife. She had never seen it or driven it. I fell in love with it when I took for a test drive. So she trusted me and now Ill never get to drive it again! She loves it. Its powerful, comfortable, stable. Its very luxurious inside and looks tuff on the outside. The front seats are very soft and comfortable. Great driver comfort when it comes to radio controls on the steering wheel and everything is easy to reach on the dash. Love the Bose stereo and the sun roof. Very good buy for the money.

Amazing - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By arif - December 11 - 10:10 amAmazing car. Feels like a Jaguar while on the road, and total confidence off road. Fuel economy a little low, but, hey, arent all SUVs? Bought brand new in March 2002 and no problems at all. Thats why it has amazing resale in our part of the world. Prettiest 4x4 in terms of exterior, while interior is comfortable and functional. All in all, $ for $ the best SUV in the world. Its ripe for replacement as its approaching 4 years, but I cant find any alternative that will match it for build quality, comfort, ergonomics and performance in that price range. So I guess Ill be keeping it!

Good SUV - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Lucas - December 8 - 12:46 pmI bought The Pathfinder because it was praised on here, and Im glad I did. It drives well, runs quiet, and hasnt given me major problems yet. I bought mine with 134,000 miles on it, but they are mostly highway miles. She gets around 15-16 MPG, but Im trying to get her to around 20 or so. Probably going to add a K&N cold air intake soon. Changing your own oil can be kinda a drag too, being that the oil filter is underneath the semi-skid plate.

Great Stereo, great Engine - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By TBerndt - November 12 - 2:00 amVery fun recreational vehicle. Six disc stereo rocks, better than a lot of folks have at home. Roof rack accepts Yakima conversions that make boat carrying, etc. quite easy. Has a tendency to break loose on wet roads, hard turns. Think its the potent engine-you just have to stay off of it a little on slick roads.

Great Suv - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By DBoothe - November 4 - 10:00 amI have had my Pathfinder for just over 2 years now. The only problem I had was an o2 sensor that was replaced at the dealership at no charge. Wish gas milage was better but then again im in a SUV. It dependable and it looks good and not everybody is driving around in one. Would recommend it to anyone.

I had to replace it! - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By Mark - August 16 - 6:16 pmI bought a early 1999 Pathfinder LE in 2002. It was my first SUV and I loved it! I had an issue with head gaskets that cost me a bit but well worth it. In December 07 my wife and 10 month old son were rear-ended and the truck was flipped onto its roof. Amazingly the only injury was a scratch on my wifes head. For that reason alone I had to replace it with another Pathfinder ASAP. Just bought a 2002 SE and cant wait to get behind the wheel again. I got a great price but the Bose radios 6 disc changer doesnt work. I would recommend a Pathfinder to anyone looking for an SUV!

Bulletproof!!! - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
By jonnom130 - July 25 - 8:44 amI recently purchased this vehicle with 220k miles and was skeptical because of the mileage. However, this skepticism was short lived. This truck is solid! There are no fluid leaks, seeping gaskets, or strange noises. It doesnt smoke, knock, or tick. I am amazed at how well it runs with such high mileage. EVERYTHING works as it should. I have had to make a few minor repairs that are common with high mileage vehicles. I recommend this model year vehicle to anyone looking for reliable transportation. My only complaint is the fuel economy. I have to say it gets terrible gas mileage. Expect about 13 city and no more than 20 on the highway.
