This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

I CANT BELIEVE I WAS FORCED TO BUY A SUNROOF (AND I HATE SUNROOFS) BECAUSE I WANTED TRACTION CONTROL. DRIVES GREAT, BUT PREMIUM UNLEADED GAS IS GOING TO TAKE SOME GETTING USED TO. 3K HIGHER THAN THE PILOT. HOPE I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE.

  • great car, some squeaks and creaks - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is a great car, I have no regrets but the persistant creaking coming from the pillars between the front and rear doors could be a sign of poor structural design or poor build quality. We will see. The center console is really confusing, I need to study the manual. Aside from that its an all around great car giving me good utility ,looks, speed and handling. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has had this problem.

The Nissan Murano is a utility vehicle with the heart and performance of a sports car. I have been driving vans and SUVs for the past 10 years. This vehicle has been the most fun to drive, but it still has all the utility capacity I will ever need. So far at 3,000 miles I have not experienced any service problems. It holds the road, the cvt transmission gives you a smooth quick acceleration without shift points. It just goes!

  • Horrible cloth seats - 2003 Nissan Murano

The cloth seats are the worst ever. They inflict pain and discomfort. Leather package should be available by itself, not forced on top of two other packages.

  • The super engined SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

The best engine on the market. The CVT is smooth and responsive. Holds the road surprising well for a SUV. Not had it long enough to properly evaluate reliability, but it seems fine. Beautiful exterior styling, with 18" wheels. Love it or hate it interior styling (I love it). Good quality materials used in seats, dash, etc. All in all an excellent used car buy.

  • God I Love The Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I now have owned this vehicle about 6 weeks now and I think its great. Ive always been a Nissan fan and once again they provide another reason to be one. It looks and handles like nothing Ive ever driven. I actually cant believe I own an SUV but this is so different...My only concern is with the SE model. I notice some rattles at times that make me concerned for the long term. SE ride is a little too harsh.

  • Only had it a month but I love it. - 2003 Nissan Murano

Being a gadget lover, this car more than meets my expectations. Ive spent my first month of ownership trying to test all the features - so far, so good and I still have things to test. Ive also been very impressed because, so far, I have nothing for the dealer to correct when I take it in for its first service.

I have had a Lexus 300 and ML 320,and I like this car very much. The CVT transmission is excellent. No up or down shifts when on mountain roads. Good leg room in the back seat. Plenty of power with good gas milage. 20 to 23 miles per. Good head lights. Smooth ride and nice style. So far I am quite happy with the car/suv
