This Year's Model Updates:

Diesel fans, rejoice! After years of waiting, a Mercedes-Benz diesel is once again available in the States, as the E320 CDI joins the lineup. For now, this model is only 45-state certified, meaning that it's unavailable in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York or Vermont. Beginning in March 2005, the base E320 becomes the E350 with the addition of a 3.5-liter V6 with 51 more horsepower. At the same time, a sport package will be added, which features upgraded suspension tuning and wheels, as well as steering wheel-mounted shift buttons. Complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel.

  • Pure Luxury - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This car is awesome! The powerful V8 is silky smooth with responsive handling making this car an absolute joy to drive. The interior feels like it was well made and solid with sexy styling. When you slide into the car you immediately get the feeling of "luxury". In addition, its packed with plenty of convenience features, too many to list. Definitely the best sedan Ive ever owned!

Ive owned this vehicle for about 9 months now and the longer I own it and drive it the more Im enjoying it. Ive averaged up to 28 mpg on the highway at speeds to 70 mph. The ride is very comfortable. The suspension is a little firm but thats why I bought the 500 and not the 350. The xenon light are incredible and the handling is as one would expect from such a car, the acceleration is almost as good as my 911. My only complaints are that the glove box is a little small to be very useful, and the seats are a little hard to put in a comfortable position, maybe to many adjustments. Ive had only one small problem with the electrical system which was fixed under warranty. Excellent

I am so glad that I had chosen this over Lexus. Sure Lexus is reliable, but very boring and unoriginal. Also, absolutely no problems ever! Not one! Only time I went to the dealership was to buy the car, and have it washed! I love the interior design and soft leather and seats!

This car is exciting on so many different levels. There is nothing like it on the road even though Audi and Cadillac try very hard. Theres still nothing that feels, smells, or drives like a Benz. Faster than some Ferraris and Porsches but practical enough to strap my daughter into her car seat and go go go!

from the moment i drove my e class mercedes off the lot i knew that it was something special about this car. i went a hour out of the way of my house before i took it home to show my wife. when i pulled it into the garage i honestly didnt want to get out. the new e class diesel is nothing like youd expect from a disel car.

When the car is performing well, not in the shop, it is wonderful. Have had numerous major problems with the car, such as O rings having to be replaced twice, the transmission going out, numerous problems with the keyless go, and on and on. Have asked MB to extend warranty to 75K with being turned down. Will not buy another MB car, ever

Never driven such a smooth car before, you almost get tired, because there is nothing to do while you drive. Everythig is done for you.....the ride is the smoothest ever. Even my SOLO2 laser radar turns itself off because it cant tell that the car is driving

  • We really enjoy this car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Have always wanted to own a new Mercedes, now we do. Previous car was a 01 E-320 & though we thoroughly enjoyed owning it, the 05 model is vastly improved. Thought about waiting for the new E-350, but felt very comfortable with the deal I got on this one.

  • Love my E - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I just bought the 05 E Class as a late B-day present to myself. I love the car so far. I have heard about the electronic gremlins in the car. Hopefully there arent any in mine. The obsidian black paint is just gorgeous. I definetly reccomend the premium package. You get everything you need with that package except for the heated seats of course. I hope I am still in love with this car when I have to decide on getting the extended warranty. The appearance package is great. Except for the black wood trim, and the nasty looking rims. The stock rims look so much better. I wish they would bing back the window controls in the center. That was trademark mercedes!

  • I love my E500 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I love this car. I have owned Hummer H2s Lexus LS400 and SC430s, Cadillac DeVilles, MB c240s etc. The E500 is by far the best I have owned. Its fast as hell ( my best 1/4 mile time is 13.9 at 102mph with a few chips) smooth riding, great pickup sexy looks and extreme attitude. You cant mess with this car it messes with you!
