This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

This vehicle has surpassed my expectations. I had two M3s before this car. I miss the exterior design of the M3, but nothing else. This cars interior is first rate. The stereo is first rate (unlike the M3 it can handle bass). The ride is nicer than the M3 as well. I understand they cancelled the C55. I guess they couldnt fit the 6.3 litre motor in the compartment. Its a shame because I think this is a perfect small sports sedan. One of the best I have driven.

If you want to waste $30,000 then this is the car for you. I traded in a KIA Rio and thought I was taking a huge step up but I was mistaken. In the 6 months I have had this car it has been in the shop 7 times for various problems including alignment problems, electrical glitches with the ESP system, transmission and the lost goes on. The car is full of squeaks & rattles. I wish I had been smarter and purchased a car based on its actual merits not on the logo on the hood. Save yourself $10,000 and countless trips to the dealer and buy a Honda or Toyota. Mercedes is only a name now. There is NO quality behind the shiny hood emblem in my opinion.

Beautiful and easy to handle. Its not too big, but has 4 doors. I love it! I feel classy, I feel pretty. Drive one and see!

I thought it was time for a true sports car till I drove this hot rod. Ive had the car 18 months and it has performed flawlessly, except I wore the rear tires off at 4,500 miles, but I guess thats my fault. I really like the exclusivity of the AMG package. Not quite the nimble handling of a BMW, but a more refined package overall. Fit and finish are first rate. Mines Diamond Black and I get compliments on the color all the time. Its great to dust 350Zs Mustang GTs and other "quick" cars in my little sedan.

I remember seeing an advertisment for a C230 about a year ago saying "Remember how much you loved your first car? Imagin how much you will love your first Mercedes". This car is not only my first car (at 17), but also my first Mercedes. I guess it is for this reason that I am a little bias with my rating. However, this car truly is a wonderful car full of great acceleration and amazing interior comfort, not to mention a great sound system.

  • Solid - Formed Out of One Piece - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive had my wagon for almost 3 years now and love it. It has a very solid feel - it just feels like its formed out of one piece. The seats, seating position and layout are extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this car/wagon and would quickly buy another. Beware of expert reviews. Ive had an Audi and the quality and feel is just not the same. My MBZ is not the fastest, but it is sporty and has plenty of pep when you need it. It handles nicely. The interior is classy (not overdone) and the exterior looks great.

When I first bought the car I was in love!! I loved the way it looked and thought for the money Im in heaven! But... after 3 months of having the car it stopped in the middle of the road. I was mortified! The car needed a new transmission after 2300 miles. I got the car back and thought all was well.. until.. I got stuck 2 more times. Now a year later I am stuck with a lemon and going to court in a few weeks...

this car is a dream to drive. plenty of power to pin you to the seat from a standstill, yet smooth and refined at low speeds. stable and solid even through the tightest turns. this car weds elegance to performance in a seamless manner.

  • Most fun ever! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive driven BMW M3s and corvettes, but the C55 is just as fast, and is one of the smoothest accelerating cars Ive been in. It takes "creamy" to a different level. The build quality is superb, although the AMG seats are a bit narrow for a larger man like myself. So many nice touches and accessories. I love having an entertaining and involved cockpit, and the C55 doesnt fail to please! Its a grown up version of the boy toy hot rod.

This is a high performing car. I feel I can and will take anyone on the highway. The passing power is splendid. I like the fact that i can choose Comfort or Sporting and the tranny responds to the way I drive. When I am in Comfort it is a more plesant ride withthe supension but cornering and speed is sacrafice. It is still fast with this in mind.It encourage others around you to (especially out dated Hondas) to attempt to compete. Most on the road will let you pass or wont cut you off because its a Mercedes and they can tell its fast. I have the black coupe which looks sweet. I get looks and the car washers love the car. I like the Panny roof and the sound systems is awesome. I love my car!
