Overview & Reviews
New body-colored door edge guards are available as an option, as is Homelink and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a built-in compass.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck.
- Weak base four-cylinder, mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models, cheap-looking interior.

I love my 2004 Mazda Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By ChiChi - July 21 - 2:00 amI just turned in a leased Nissan Pathfinder and purchased a Tribute. Once I test drove a Tribute, I knew I had to have it. It handles like a dream and is the perfect size for me. On demand 4WD is great and I can find nothing about it that I dont love.

zoom, zoom, zoom - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Hoppy41 - July 15 - 2:00 amThe way I was able to just get into this vehicle and drive it was unexplainable. The smoothness of a car and the power of a truck.

Pleasantly suprised - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By yellowpit - July 10 - 10:00 amWhile the creature comforts arent luxury level and the four banger wont rocket you into traffic, it is a nice vehicle at a great price. I got the last 04 on the lot $1300 less than Edmunds suggested. Just took a 750 mile trip on less than two tanks of gas, worked well on both the Interstates and PAs dirt roads.

Mazda Tribute Going Strong 160,000 mi. - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Susan Barry - July 7 - 1:03 pmThese are such well built, reliable SUVs. Our 2004 with 160,000 mi. has never broken down or failed to deliver power towing our 18" SeaRay boat back and forth between FL & WI. No problems ever in the motor, drive train, electronics, operational parts like doors, lights, AC, heat, seat controls, etc. Well drive it on until we need to buy a new Mazda.

sporty, easy to maneuver, catchy - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Mazda Tribute rocks - May 23 - 10:00 amThis is the best vehicle we have ever purchased. The titanium exteriorcolor is so sporty, and the interior is sportier than most sports cars. It has plenty of room, which we need with a new baby. Dont settle for less than the V-6, and check this vehicle out before looking at a bulkier, more expensive ride. The Tribute is just plain fun to drive, while the vehicle itself is anything but plain!

Excellent vehicle for your money - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Frankie - May 18 - 6:40 amSix weeks after purchase, I got into a bad car accident and I tested its safety; this SUV saved my life. My Tribute got fixed and after almost 60K miles it is still running like new. Fuel economy, quality of the leather interior and difficulty to operate the CD are the only minuses in this car. But the rest are just pluses. I have looked at other SUVs but I have not found the comfort, power and nice look my Tribute has. I think I will have this car for a long time! I took it off road also and its performance was awesome, the rest of SUVs just saw my dust left behind!

So far so good - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Doug Paradore - February 16 - 9:20 amI have owned a Tribute for one year now with absolutely no issues. Im very satisfied with the vehicle so far. Great pep, great stereo, comfortable and roomy, great in snow, good handling and road vision, excellent braking. Could use more illumination in cabin for things like the key ignition, cruise control on steering wheels and reading lamps would be preferred in front instead of having to reach behind. And of course the gear shifter is too long. But since the car is such a pleasure to drive and own, these small things are easily overlooked. Buy one now! I also considered and test drove the Highlander, Pilot, & Forester. Believe me this is the best choice of all of them.
