Overview & Reviews
New body-colored door edge guards are available as an option, as is Homelink and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a built-in compass.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck.
- Weak base four-cylinder, mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models, cheap-looking interior.

I love it if only mileage was better! - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By JulieRud - November 22 - 2:00 amIts a perfect car for me! I love its size, its performance, its comfort, its safety, its handling, and its looks! It drives beautifully, and has been totally dependable for almost 3 years! What other cars can claim that?

Love My Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Kmokele - November 22 - 2:00 amBought my Mazda Tribute four months ago. It is a pleasure to drive. I had a larger SUV prior to this purchase but I am glad that I made the switch to the Mazda...gas consumption is much better (average 24 mpg) and I am thrilled with my vehicle.

Mazda Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By perkins02m - November 22 - 2:00 amIt has the luxury of a car but the toughness of a truck. The back seats give ample room for a adult to sit with lots of leg room. It also has a fast pickup, when taking off. It coasts decently to the next light or stop sign without the pedal on the floor. Now it is bumpier than a car. But I will always pick performance over the ride. We have not been limited with her. We have taken her fishing and have gotten her in some sandy spots and overall have been pleased. I notice I do get better gas milege if I dont always fill it up. Less weight I figure. Overall this has been my favorite car in the last 16 years.

Great SUV amongst crowded field - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By WFC - August 18 - 10:00 amIve had the Tribute for six months and really enjoy it. It performed great in the MN winter weather, and offers a lot of amenities compared to other vehicles in its class that I researched or have owned.

Fun to drive - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By pixychick - August 18 - 10:00 amOverall, I think this is a great little car. The one complaint I have is that its much too noisy and the workmanship was lousy. Getting parts is always a big hassle and have to wait to get car fixed.

Great Little SUV - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By dball1 - April 29 - 9:36 amWeve had ours since May of 04 and have never had a hiccup out of it. The only issues we corrected were the horrendous Continental tires. The volume knob on the radio is a bit sticky, but thats about it.

Nice Vehicle - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By dwfkyf - October 28 - 2:00 amI went to the dealer just for a test drive and wound up buying the car. It had all the features I wanted and I enjoyed the feel of the ride. Nice amount of cargo space and roomy seating. Special thanks to the folks at 128 Mazda in Wakefield, MA. It was an excellent buying experience. The staff was informative, they came right out with a price that was great and offered me fair value for my trade-in, cant thank them enough. It was far better than my last couple of car purchases through other dealers. Im looking forward to owning this vehicle for a long time.

My Mazda Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Roger122387 - September 4 - 10:00 amI bought my car back in March and I have really loved it. It has seemed to be a very reliable car. The only problems I do have with it at this point is when I first go to start it (we dont have cold weather where I live), but it seems to almost want to die or not start. It turns over fine but at first it doesnt idle right. Ive heard several complaints very similar to this one. At first, my battery light would almost always be on except for when I would drive a couple of hours out of town, but when I would get back in the battery light would be back on. This only lasted for a month.
