Overview & Reviews
New body-colored door edge guards are available as an option, as is Homelink and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a built-in compass.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck.
- Weak base four-cylinder, mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models, cheap-looking interior.

Overall a Good Value - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Murf130 - June 12 - 2:00 amWe wanted a car based mini-SUV that could get around the city while still having the ability to haul and go off- road; we got it in the Tribute. It hauls my 3000 lb boat with no problem. It is sure footed in the mud of the Pac NW and you can get it in any parking spot in Seattle. You can tell however that you are buying an "economy" vehicle as its missing some of the bells & whistles that my Silverado has.

I love my Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Microchic - June 1 - 10:00 amI researched all compact SUVs before purchase. Decided that the true cost to own of this vehicle was better for my family. Drives nice, and I dont seem to have the wind problem other are having. I have the base model stereo, and would have rathered the upgrade. The DVD is a life saver for long trips. My daughter cant wait to go on a long trip so she can use it!

Best SUV in its class - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Delaware19701 - June 1 - 10:00 amIn comparing between Ford Excape and Mazda Tribute, the Mazda was a hands down choice for me. After 6 months I have no complaints. Too many bad comments from Escape owners for me to take the chance on a purchase of an Escape

Fun To Drive and Dependable - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Randolph B. Mills - April 13 - 10:00 amHaving had a Mazda for 14 years prior to buying this new vehicle there was no need to doubt that we had Purchased a Quality Vehicle. We know that the Mazda Tribute will give us many years of Quality Performance and Driving Comfort. We are very pleased with the Price and Service Policy, including the Warrented Items offered at the time of purchase.

Disappointed with mileage and performance - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By maskita - April 2 - 2:06 pmPurchased used with 106K on the clock, now has 113K. We were attracted to the exterior styling and interior features of the 2004 Mazda Tribute. It gives a very stable and comfortable ride. I hate the poor air conditioning controls. When you select the A/C, you cannot select which vents (high or low) the air comes out of, unlike the Toyotas and Hondas that I am accustomed to. The V6 engine pulls fairly well at low speeds, but seems to have a difficult time maintaining 70 mph on some highway inclines. I expected better than 22 mpg from a modern Japanese vehicle of this size. Would not buy another one.

Pleasant Experience - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Cliff Peterson - March 18 - 10:00 amMine is one of the first tributes to come off the line (10/00). Its three years old, has 60,000 miles, almost trouble free, and still drives and feels like new. Its fun to drive, and gives a very secure feeling at high speeds and in harsh x-winds.

A GREAT DECISION! WOOHOO! - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By FlyFisherman - March 7 - 2:00 amSo glad I bought this Mazda Tribute! It has served me well and most of all is EASY to drive...what a joy. The mileage is fair/good, absolutely love the firm bucket seats that help with my back problem. Great cargo room, fold down seats rule! The stereo kicks...go for the updgraded stereo, its worth it! Great roadhandling features and in New England here the 4x4 is the smoothest I have ever experienced. Thanks for a great vehicle!

JimsTribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By CinciJim - December 23 - 10:00 amLove the look and feel of this car. Handles great. Engine is responsive. Seats are a little hard for long drives, though. High-end sound package is well worth the extra $. Overall, great value in a small SUV. Pricing is right for this car.
