Update on Transmission Noise - 2011 Kia Sorento
By Kansas - February 13 - 10:00 amOlathe Kia contacted KIA engineers. Solution was to flash the computer. I am not sure how that works, but it worked. Fixed < 24 hours and they provided a free car during repair. Still very pleased with my purchase. Drives great, averaging 23 mpg, still turning heads. Thank you Olathe Kia.

Sorento kept me very safe in Accident! - 2011 Kia Sorento
By ct621 - January 30 - 6:49 amI bought my 2011 Sorento in June of 2011 unfortunately I only owned it until July of 2011 since I was involved in a serious accident. I was going through a major intersection where I live when another driver made a left turn in front of me and failed to yield. I was going 45 mph and she was going about 15-20 we had a head on collision and my car flipped twice. I was wearing my seatbelt which saved my life but the sorento kept me very safe!! I couldnt have been more pleased with the car in the short time I owned it. It was a shame to see such a beautiful car sold for salvage:(

Love my Sorento! - 2011 Kia Sorento
By rmmp - January 28 - 11:20 amIve never driven an SUV before but needed a new car as my old SAAB of 10 years wasnt up to par. I live on the top of a steep New England hill & spent 3 nights last year during winter storms at work or at anothers house because I couldnt get home up that hill. With this Kia I KNOW Ill have NO problem whatsoever in the future. Its just the car I needed & wanted. Luxury interior features that were in the SAAB & some new ones to boot along with the standard AWD and 4x4 option also! Where else would you find that! The topper for me was the Made In USA! Glad I can help myself and the economy! Everyone that sees it is in awe right now. Double takes from people on the street! LOL

I checked out all the models,I felt the base model was the best choice for mileage and features.I like a manual trans.It has a black Ext. with chrome;handles,grill,rear trim.Nice alloy wheels.It has privacy glass.Very upscale looking!The interior is classy looking!Dk.grey and Lt,grey with a classy faux Blk/silver wood trim between them.The base model is loaded with all the safety features and power options you could want.Power;windows,locks,mirrors,cruise ,a/c,bluetooth,satelite radio,cd, stereo,ipod,usb port.Safety should be the same or better as the Hyundai Santa Fe it is based on,has excellent rating !

Great Crossover - 2011 Kia Sorento
By Kansas - December 8 - 7:03 pmWe have had our Sorento for 3 weeks now. Taken a couple of extended trips. 25 mph on highway, 21 in city (2500 miles so far). Rides stiff, but I knew that and like that ride. No rattles. Bluetooth works great; love the styling in and out.

Its my wifes car and she loves everything about it, the only issue we had was an oil leak but Kia took care of it just fine. Last Friday my wife was driving to work and was involved in a head on collision, and her car suffered major damage to the front end and is totaled. But she walked away without a scratch, and was able to go to work the same day! When I asked her what she wanted for her next car, and the answer was a new Sorento!

The V6 offers plenty of power, for full loads or towing, and purrs along smoothly and effortlessly thanks to the 6-speed automatic transmission. Shifts are smooth and unrecognizable, however, under full throttle, responds with noticable torque. Plus, it runs on 87 octaine. The key less entry and push button starter are fun, but keeps you wondering where the house key is. The Bluetooth commands do not recognize voice commands very well. The 3rd row seating hides nicely when not in use and are easily brought into function for younger passengers. Overall, the Sorento looks and is impressive and fun to drive.

Im happy (so far) - 2011 Kia Sorento
By agentzero - July 11 - 11:53 pmOk, my wife was extremely reluctant to go with Kia, we turned in a Murano as the lease was expiring. For the $$$ though, there was nothing coming close to the deal Kia was willing to swing. $36.4k sticker for $29.5k plus tax. 3 year old loaded Pilots go for that around here. If you can find a 2011 on the lot, thats the key, theres no way to get $7k knocked-off a 2012, and IMO opinion the differences from the 11 to 12 were not huge. 11 was the major redesign year.

Although, most people do not like the harsh ride, its designed to be a very stable and has a controlled stance. The engine power of the 3.5 is fine. With nearly 280 h.p. this vehicle will deliver. We have accumulated 85,000 miles so far. Its very easy on tires, brakes, and still has the original shocks and struts. The engine, transmission, and driveline are fine. The handling of the car still feels like factory new. We prefer the Bridgestone H/T 684 tires. They wear extremely well and even. The navigation, back-up feature, and interior lighting, (red) are great features. Buy one. Good for 200K.
