This Year's Model Updates:

Second-row captain's chairs are now available on the LX, while all models get larger rear drum brakes.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, roomy interior with lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Handling and steering response could be better, missing a few key minivan features, ABS not standard, below-average fuel mileage.

I never dreamed I would end up driving a minivan but as a single father of 3, there was no better choice of vehicle for me right now. So I bought a 2005 Kia Sedona LX. I just love this van! Everything from the exterior to the interior of this van was put together with care and understanding of a family on a budget. The van looks and rides good and I am pretty happy with the purchase. My only gripe about this vehicle is that its consumption of gas is HUGE! I can get about 22mpg on the highway. When on the road, there is minimal road noise and good visibility. Controls in the cabin are laid out in a logical and thoughtful manner. Factory CD/radio system isnt bad.

My wife and I bought the van in May 05. With two kids, we figured a car wouldnt work so we bought the van. As for room, we should have stuck with a car. Not much more room offered. The seats are very uncomfortable. The gas mileage - absolutely horrible! But considering the price, safety and budget well have this van for quite a while. Gotta do it for the kids.

BANG FOR THE BUCK DESCRIBES THIS VEHICLE. YOU GET MORE THAN YOUR MONEYS WORTH AND CAN SURPRISE MANY HIGH END MINI-VANS WITH ITS TORQUE, POWER AND SMOOTHNESS. FINISH QUALITY EXTENDS FROM THE INTERIOR ALL THE WAY TO THE EXTERIOR, SO DONT LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU, KEEP THE MAINSTREAM GUESSING. THE WARRANTY IS NOT HALF BAD EITHER.

My new experiance with Kia left me happy. I enjoy the power to pass when and who I want. Yet the fuel milage could be better. (20 mile per/gallon tops, on a good day). The room is adequate for my family of six. I had only one problem with my Kia in 8,700 miles. The rear heater stopped working shortly after I purchased my family van. And the dealer is so far away, it is a real experience taking it in (45 minutes away) for repair. Not only is it far, but with four kids it really makes it a miserable task.

This Van Currently has 123,000+ miles on it and counting, weve used it to haul all my kids to their games and meets, move their stuff to their college dorms and apartments. We have moved furniture, appliances, taken trips, been all over in it, shes been old reliable. Havent had any problems with this van, I would buy another one were it not for the fact that in another year I wont need to be moving anymore kids and I can downsize again finally.

We love this minivan! Weve owned it for nearly a year, and it is so pretty, so reliable, so perfect! We havent had a single problem, and it drives like a dream. I am so pleased we were able to afford all the extra features we wanted, like a sun roof and leather, without breaking the bank. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this vehicle!

  • Good van - 2005 Kia Sedona

Bought the van used in 2009, and other than the required maintenance I never had to fix a thing. I love this van. I put about 75,000 miles on it and it is more reliable than any new car I ever bought.

Ive owned a 2004 Kia Sedona for one year and I only have one complaint. The rear seats dont fold into the floor, which is inconvenient when you need to haul things other then kids. It drives great. The transmission and engine are flawless. The interior is sharp looking and comfortable for long trips. The exterior is good looking as well. The best thing about this van is that I bought the top of the line model for $19,000 with tax out the door. I had a Dodge before and the Kia is so much better built. Also I tow 3 ATVs on a trailer and it tows them without a problem.Consider this model because price vs value is fantastic, as long as you can live without folding in floor seats.

Two failed power seat switches. Cheap Paint. Rattles till your teeth fall out. The Chevy Vega of the minivan world. Steering wheel placement requires either you have 2 long legs or 5 long arms...zero ergonomics...rather negative zero ergonomics. Geez, Im 511"...pretty average for the US.

  • Sedona - Nice Ride - 2005 Kia Sedona

We were looking for an economical replacement for our ten year old Dodge Caravan. We looked at all of the contenders out there and felt that many of them were overpriced for some of the most basic of features. Playing the “option package” game can add thousands to the sticker price just to get one or two features of interest. We also found it frustrating to get the color options we wanted. Build quality and design left a lot to be desired when we looked at the choices. Then we looked at the Sedona. One look was all it took. All the basic features we were looking for were there. The price was great! It’s built like a tank. It is very comfortable and drives real smooth and quiet. It has power!
