Overview & Reviews
Second-row captain's chairs are now available on the LX, while all models get larger rear drum brakes.
- Excellent value, roomy interior with lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, lengthy warranty coverage.
- Handling and steering response could be better, missing a few key minivan features, ABS not standard, below-average fuel mileage.

Consumers Beware! - 2005 Kia Sedona
By Consumers Beware!!!! - September 3 - 6:36 pmMy van has a thumping noise caused from the struts. What bothers me the most is that Sedona vans have been known to have this problem since 2002. Had I known this I would have driven right by this dealership on the day I bought my van. Now, I am stuck. Kia is aware of this noise and has established it as an "irritant noise" and not a safety issue; therefore, at this time nothing can be done until Kia develops a replacement part (which will be covered by warranty, given the warranty does not expire before the part is invented). Great van -- if you dont mind a brand new vehicle that makes a thumping noise. Before you buy a Sedona do your research -- talk with other Sedona owners.

Piece of Garbage - 2005 Kia Sedona
By Jonathan N - August 5 - 4:53 pmI bought my Sedona used two years ago and have had nothing but problems. After three months the check engine light came on and when I took it to the shop, the mechanic said the hose used to transfer the anti-freeze to the radiator was missing. He installed the hose but apparantly didnt check the rest of the van. Less than two years later my engine blew and its not covered. The warranty and the KIA name are a joke. I take excellent care of all of my vehicles and this one is plain old Korean garbage. I will never buy a KIA again.

Love this car, my 2nd one - 2005 Kia Sedona
By Ingrid - July 25 - 3:20 pmI love the Kia Sedona; great price, nice looking, lots of room for kids and big shopping trips. Great if you regularly have out of town guests with lots of luggage. Lots of bells and whistles without a high price. Very safe; unfortunately mine was involved in two accidents, neither my fault, and although 1 was a fatality accident I came through without a scratch. Some bumps and bruises but no major injuries. Even at 3 years old my first Sedona was worth more than we owed on the loan when the last accident totaled it. Love the safety feature of not being able to open the sliding door when the gas lid is open.

Newly bought - 2005 Kia Sedona
By John - June 12 - 11:53 pmMy buying experience was the best I could expect. I have driven the car 200 miles since buying it yesterday and love the feel of the wheel and the comfort. I look forward to filling it with my family members!

excellent - 2005 Kia Sedona
By Debra D. Anderson - June 6 - 3:06 pmThis was one of the most important decisons I had to make since moving to the Virginia area. This turned out to be the best thing I did. The ride is comfortable, the gas mileage is great and I am recommending the vehicle to others.

Kia only has one problem - 2005 Kia Sedona
By Kathy - April 9 - 10:00 amThe value of this van exceeds any expectation. Could not believe, after spending nearly $28,000 plus on Chrysler LE Van. This was totally loaded; moon roof, cd player, air all around from front to back; cup holders and storage bins everywhere, comfort of leather, electric locks, electric side view mirrors, V6. Gas probably 13-15 mpg - a little disappointed - but the worst exterior paint job in the world. Every time your keys hit the paint opening and closing any of the door it scratches noticably. But, what are you going to do. Hope for a decent trade in value. Have to wait and see.

Pretty good mini van - 2005 Kia Sedona
By durangomom - March 22 - 6:10 amI bought this van used with 12,000 miles on it, it has been a good car for us, I was very hard on the rotors, and the brakes, we had to travel down a step hill often, so the rotors wore out pretty fast, that was about 2 years, after we bought it, also around the same time, the adjusting part of the p seat went out, and we had it replaced, its a good a car, and it can take hit in the back, it was in a pretty hard finder binder, and hardly crunched up at all. I do recommend this car, for the price its perfect, and I think it is pretty fast, i dont know what some of the poster are talking about, mini vans are meant for large families, they shouldnt be like sports cars, they should be safe for kids.

Kia Sedona - 2005 Kia Sedona
By naayaah321 - February 16 - 5:43 pmMy parents own a Kia Sedona, 2005, and really like the minivan. It has been very reliable and done us well after 4 years. The brakes werre replaced prior 2 times and on the second tine, my dad made them put heavy duty rotors and pads and its been fine ever since. The engine has been very reliable and the problems noted n these reviews have never happened to us. We did replace the tires with the car tires they reccomend, and they wore out fast. What you need to do, is replace them with light truck and SUV tires and i fixes that problem. Think about it, the vehicle weighs 4800 lbs, and car tires are just not heavy duty enough. Overall, its been a great vehicle for our family.
