We have a 2002 Sedona and have loved it until one thing after another keeps going on. The van keeps dying out on me. We have changed the motor mounts, 02 sensors, the air flow filters, and the alternator. So far the check engine light has not turned on so the dealer is guessing on what could be wrong. Up to now we have spent close to $2000 and still dont know whats going on. At this point I regreat letting my husband change my mind from buying the Toyota Sienna. WOMEN DONT LET YOUR HUSBAND CHANGE YOUR MIND. For a mom with 3 small kids this is not a safe car!

The transmission blew, the air conditioning went, the 3 catalytic converters went, the seat broke twice, brakes and rotors. 10,000 later in repairs, needless to say, I wont make the same mistake twice

  • Spark Plugs hard to change - 2005 Kia Sedona
    By -

My husband and I bought this 05 sedona used and he went to change spark plugs and the back 3 is going to be very expensive to change, you have to take the intake manifold off and I find that very ridiculous that they would build it that way. I love the van except trying to squeeze in the very back and not a lot of trunk space. Very disappointed that it is going to be hard just to try to do basic repairs ourselves like changing spark plugs.

  • lots of minivan for the money - 2005 Kia Sedona

My wife and I traded a 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager for an 05 Kia Sedona due to transmission problems. Right off the bat I was impressed--build quality and interior design were light years ahead of what I expected. Nice ride, too. Handling is decent. I have to give credit on the interior as this is the 05 Sedonas best feature. Plenty of cupholders, 12v outlets, and storage spots. Seats are comfortable. We took this van to the beach about a week after we bought it, and it was a perfect match. I never thought I would "want" to drive a minivan but this one changed all that. Great sage green exterior paint job. Easy on the eyes.

  • Great little van - 2005 Kia Sedona

Got the van to transport our greyhound dogs. We have 4 of them and have found with the center row of seats out we have ample room for all the dogs. This van has been very reliable and we have had no issues with it. Have only had to perform normal maintenance on it. The ride is good, the interior design is just right, over all we find this a good vehicle that suits our needs. We only wish it got better mpg, however it does get better mpg then my wifes pt cruiser. Will buy Kia again when we need a new van.

  • Underpromise and Overdelivery - 2005 Kia Sedona
    By -

Weve owned our 2005 Sedona since Oct. last year and so far it has over delivered our expectations. Nice torquey V-6, comfortable ride, excellent road manners for a vehicle its class, very quiet engine, great a/c, silk-shifting transmission. Great curb appeal, killer warranty (10 yrs/ 100,000 miles), and the sales/service-maintenance experience has been the best weve ever had with any Dealer. Our decision to buy the Sedona came from our experience with our other car. A 2002 Kia Optima with 70k miles driven in less than 3 yrs. This was a "no- brainer" decision.

  • beware - 2005 Kia Sedona

One of the first questions i asked the salesman was how did the transmissions hold up on towing!!!!! He said great havent had a problem... Well at 12000 miles even before we hooked a small pop camper to it we had to have the tranmission replaced, and from there 6 more trips to the dealer for shifter problems, eng light came on due to a trans problem....and oh yeah forgot this 18000 miles had to replace all 4 crappy YOKOHAMA tire on it!!! I think you guys can get the gas mileage up too

  • Trade my Odyssey for a Kia - 2005 Kia Sedona
    By -

I traded my 2002 Odyssey after the transmission was replaced 2 times. Yes there is a difference between these two vehicles but this Kia can hold its own. I brought my fully loaded and for the price, no one can touch it. I have had a few problems with my Kia but no major. I took of the tires that came with this vehicle after 13,000 mile and replaced them with some new Goodyear tires. What a difference that has made. Ride improved drastically. Look forward to the new 2006 model. From the reviews it will raise that bar.
