The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

The Hyundai Tucson is a great buy for typical commuter driving. Lots of standard features especially safety. Mileage could be better but it is taller than a sedan and with wider tires and I prefer to sit higher up. If you have a typical 30 minute commute, go Hyundai! No problems to speak of. Car is well built.

Have had the Tucson 4+ years and still is fun to drive, good in winter and air con works great in summer. Own an Acura MDX as well but end up taking the Tucson everywhere. Could buy a new car but afraid another car wont be as much fun or as reliable...

  • Tuscon for Corvette - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Traded 2002 Corvette for 05 Tuscon (even). Drastic change but no visits to service dept. after 1800 miles. Corvette couldnt pass dealership without needing service. Nice comfortable vehicle so far. Good use of space and comfortable ride. Believe it or not, better milage on the Vette. Main reasons for purchase (swap) warranty and even swap for vehicles. Had 75000 miles on Vette. Ran out of warranty in 20 months. Wont happen with Tuscon.

  • Great Car for the Money - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Our dealership bent over backwards to help us find the perfect vehicle. As soon as I got in our Tucson, I knew that it was the one. Its great on gas and peppy. Its comfortable. Plus its got great little extras, such as hooks in the cargo department to latch grocery bags onto so they dont slide! We are so happy with it.

Solid engineering and reliability. It is primarily used for comuuting. Fuel economy could be better but overall I am happy with the car.

  • What a Car! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Read earlier review on fit of exterior panels needing improvement ... not my car or any of the others I saw in the dealership ... this little SUV beat any Mercedes I have ever owned ... and Ive owned a few. It feels rock solid .. and the doors ... they close with a solid thunk you only find in top dollar European cars. Everything works! Radio is very nice ... I live in FL and the A/C ... cold as the artic. Most solid car I have ever owned ... safest car on the road. Great internet deal! I paid $1500 below the "TMV" price for the 2.7L V6. Really recommend this little puppy ... feels like a big car on the road. Best driveaway feel of any car I have bought!

Handles very nice. Light steering, good road control and power in the mountains. Handled very well in snow and sand. Gas mileage no better than my 95 chevy blazer (17 -21 mpg). Dealership has poor sales service, dont go to Bob Lewis! Paint easily damaged by bird droppings. Good stereo system. Relatively quite ride. Good cargo space for a small suv. Driver and passenger seats very comfortable. Not too many blind spots. Can get 4 full grown men in the care with golf clubs! Recommendation: fix gas mileage and dealership.

Gas mileage STINKS!!! Getting 12 MPG on a car that was supposed to give me 20 according to the window sticker. Been back 3 times. They dont know why or what to do. If I wanted a car that got such poor mileage, I would have bought a much larger SUV. I love the look of the car but thats where it ends. Standard radio could be better. Sorry I didnt upgrade it.
