The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

Comfortable ride! Its like sitting at home on my sofa. The independent 4 wheel suspension, leather seats, and low noise all add up to a smooth driving experience. The V6 engines performance is fine! Nobody buys one of these for a race car. Also, as a previous original owner of a 1989 Jeep Wrangler, and current owner of a 2000 Mustang, I have experienced many bumpy rides down the freeway during long vacation trips. We no longer have this inconvenience!

I just bought this car a few months ago. I had traded in a 98 hyundai elentra. This car fits my lifestyle perfectly cause of its comfort, reliability and sense of style. The leather seats are very comfortable and handling this vechicle is even easier than I thought it was going to be. The only downside to this is that this car gets very poor gas mileage. This vechicle is perfect for the person who wants more car for the money and you cant beat americas best warranty. All in all, this is one truly awesome vehicle and I would only purchase vehicles from Hyundai because nobody else even comes close to making better vehicles.

  • Still Happy After 4+ Years - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

The 2.0L GL is my wifes daily driver for the past 4+ yrs. Other than regular maintenance, no major issues. Weve put 85,000km on the car, incl. a couple of big road trips to the east coast. Gas mileage? 20/25 city/hwy is respectable for this class. For the price? This car has turned out to be great value.

Easy & fun to drive.Turning radius as good or better than a car.Snow driving has been handled with very good control. Like the size better than the Santa Fe. Like the comfort better also.4WD has been advantage to the size & ability to control vehicle. For the price in comparison with other vehicles of like it seems much more worth it than all the extra thousands for just a few more add ons or a little higher quality materials. Dealership has been very good in working with us. This is our 4th Hyundai-for Service,Friendliness, what they say they will do,they have been following thru, probably another reason why this our 4th 7 they get our return business.Only got 1000miles so farbutonly21mpg,

  • Love Driving a Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I love driving this car. My only complaint is that the mileage is only about 20 mpg and my old car did better. It has a lot of pep and a lot of room, but still isnt so big as most SUVs. Its easy to maneuver. The A/C will blow you into the back seat and it just feels good driving it. Before I bought the Tucson I drove a Suzuki SUV, a Toyota Rav4 and a Honda CRV and the Tucson won hands down.

  • SUV that drives like a car - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This vehicle is far superior to my RAV 4 except for one thing - gas mileage. doing all city I get 17mpg and during the best possible driving conditions I only get about 21.8. That was a huge disappointment to me. It is a smooth ride, fun to drive, and feels great. Too much plastic in the interior but still well worth getting. Except for the mileage and now at over $3/gl that is a big deal, it is a great little car.

  • Great vehicle for the price ! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Being a "Toyota Family" for the most part, I decided to go test drive other SUVs and compare some of what the market now has to offer. I was impressed with a few, (the CRV, the RAV-4, and Highlander) but most rides were let downs to my expectations. I have to be honest and say I was pessimistic stopping in at Hyundai to test drive the Tuscon. I took a look at the standard equipment on the vehicle and was shocked to see side curtain airbags as standard equipment. Then after taking it for a test drive and discovering that although the power was not great for the 4 cylinder, it was okay. It must have been. I went home that night and did my calcuations and found that Hyundai was best for my wallet.

  • My 2005 Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

The best feature about this vehicle is the air conditioning system. It has hands down the coldest system I ever had in a car. Temperatures several degrees over 100 outside and the cabin is easily between 70 and 75. The worst feature - relative poor gas mileage (2.7L) for a small SUV. real fuel mileage in the city about 20 MPG, highway about 23 MPG.

  • Please Consider This Vehicle! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

My last 3-4 cars leased or bought, have been Dodge or Chrysler products. Since this is my 1st SUV, I dont have a comparison. But, after a LOT of consideration about what kind of car I would want to keep for 10 years or more, this vehicle fit my needs. With annual mileage being always less than 12,000 miles, the 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty was a great incentive. Saftey and standard features were also a great selling point. Most other vehicles in same class were not close.
