Honda has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. Highlights include a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.8-liter engine, new exterior styling, an advanced interior design and more premium features. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style. Midway through the year, Honda will also introduce a new "GX" trim level that runs on natural gas.

Love my first new car - 2006 Honda Civic
By Craig - December 24 - 12:03 pmI just bought my first new car a little over a month ago. I purchased a black 2 door coupe and splurged for fog lights from the dealership for $500. I always get compliments about the car and how it looks. I researched about about this car for 6 months before getting it. I could not be happier. Great gas mileage and awesome stereo. I have only one complaint. My dash seems to chip off easily. I am talking about the sparkly pod segment that wraps around the speedo and stereo. I knocked into it two times and the paint literally chipped off. I was surprised due to hondas superb quality reputation. Other than this little complaint, I am truely happy. I would recommend this car to all

Wow!!! - 2006 Honda Civic
By CTDriver - December 22 - 3:06 pmNice solid vehicle. Love the new styling and interior design. Great handling and smooth ride. Interior is quiet and well designed (for the most part). Mileage is fair for the first 3,000 miles (32/gal.) in mixed situations. Would highly recommend this vehicle. Agree with many reviews that the LX model should have a 60/40 split and cup holders in the back. Stereo sounds great but would like the 350 Watt option available on LX (volume is great with windows closed). This care is definitely one you should test drive if you are looking for a stylish and reliable vehicle in this class. Atomic Blue Metallic color was worth the wait.

Others do not even compare to the performance of this car and the interior design which is miles from extrodinary. It truly is a car that I will love. I want to drive it all the time even when there is no where to go. Plus the fuel economy is great, so that is a major plus.

Civic Fog Lamps - 2006 Honda Civic
By jfmrtn - December 18 - 12:46 amRecently purchased a 2006 EX Civic with the Optional Fog Lamps. Ive had the car for five months about 6500 miles and drive local highways in Dallas/Fort Worth. Both Fog Lamps have been shattered and are no longer functional. DO NOT buy this option. Replacement cost is $125.00 EACH. These lamps dont hold up to routine driving conditions. The glass lenses cannot be replaced and So far Honda nor the dealership wont do anything.

My 1st Civic - 2006 Honda Civic
By BRIAN - December 17 - 5:10 amI traded in my 04 Maxima which ran on premium gas for an 06 Civic for the gas mileage and boy am I saving at the pump. I love the unique design inside and out. I still am not really used to the speedometer up so high. I love the responsive sterring which allows me to do things i never did in my Maxima. The stereo has a subwoofer which is nice, but remember it still is factory so it rattles sometimes and the speakers never seem to play at a high level. Also I was a bit disappointed that there was just one cd instead of 6... seems like Honda wanted to save some money. It also seems that when the car is in the 5-10mph range the car transmission bumps up or down very noticeably.

Satisfied customer - 2006 Honda Civic
By Steve - December 5 - 11:02 pmI purchased this Civic for work when my daily drive became 55 miles each way. 25 freeway and 30 mountain switchbacks. The fuel savings have paid for my car. The only problems in 80000 miles have been the sun visors and the OEM Bridgestone tires wearing out. The engine performance as well as the fuel economy improves with the engine RPM. Keep the engine up over 2500 and the car performs well. Run it at 3500 and it really scoots. I put on some Perreli P3000 (now 5000) tires increasing the handling and doubling the tires life. The only drawbacks to this car are it seems to be invisible sometimes in freeway traffic probably due to its low roof line and it has no room for snow chains if they are required.

By Ellen from The OC - November 30 - 12:03 pmWhat a difference between my old 1998 Civic EX and the 2006. Unbelievable!!! The tightness of handling is incomparabe. The exterior styling looks like a baby Beamer! I was seriously test-driving the Acura TSX, but for the $10,000 savings, I had to buy the Civic. Wish list would include optional leather seats. Also surprised the visors are not lit - theyre substantial, but lack lights.

Great car for all the features - 2006 Honda Civic
By DanS - November 27 - 2:23 amI compared this car to the Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, and Honda Accord. I chose this because of the combination of features that no other car presently has for the $. There is no other car that has the combination of this ones mileage, newer styling, reliability, expected resale value, fun to drive, and size to compare with it. The Honda Accord needs a long overdue total redesign by now as I easily chose the new Civic over the Accord as the Accord didnt have the style and sportiness of the Civic. This new style may be the same style for the next 5 years. Its difficult to find a sensible reason not to own this vehicle. Be prepared to pay close to sticker because of demand.

Nearly Flawless - 2006 Honda Civic
By bobby23 - November 26 - 11:24 amOver 59,000 in 3.5 years and the only things I had to do was oil change and tire replacement and rotation and wiper blade replacement... that was it! I didnt beat it, but drove it as hard as anyone has driven any car. Some of the best seats Ive ever sat in. Great sound system except for the rattle from the back panel that covers the rear speakers and subwoofer. 3rd gear was fussy on occasion. If a car is too fast, you dont get to enjoy it enough on public roads because you cant explore its limits... The si is perfect because its somewhat quick, its agile, and it sounds great taking it to 8,000 rpms through 4 gears! I just turned the 06 in for a 10.

Great little car - 2006 Honda Civic
By Trent - November 23 - 7:48 amI previously owned a tuned 2003 Ford Mustang GT, but got this Civic because I was driving 70 miles round trip to work everyday. The civic gets great mileage, 35-40mpg on the highway. Unfortunately, Ive had to have the water pump and ac compressor replaced. But that was done under warranty, and other than oil changes, tire rotations and gas, I dont have to spend any money on her. The only downside is that there are some serious blind spots around the C pillars in the back that make it extremely difficult at times to change lanes. I love the two tiered instrument cluster and the Ipod jack. I wish she had more power, but I love the great mileage.
