Honda has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. Highlights include a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.8-liter engine, new exterior styling, an advanced interior design and more premium features. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style. Midway through the year, Honda will also introduce a new "GX" trim level that runs on natural gas.

  Enjoy the driveability - 2006 Honda Civic

  Love the new Civic so far. Only one problem, the SRS restraint warning light stays on about 1 out of every 5 trips. Took it to dealer and diagnostic codes were not downloaded on tester yet, so I am not sure why this happens intermitently. Probably just a false warning light. We will see.

  Bought 2006 Civic LX because of its incredible reliability history but having a real hard time keeping this newly designed car healthy. Got tired of taking my new car to dealership almost every other week. I have already gone to the dealer to fix the passenger door, passenger seat sliding assembly, recalled accelerator padel, falling steering column cover, unfoldable backseat and today - both rear shock absorbers are leaking alarming amount of fluid - need to replace both. Got so freaked out, purchased the extended warranty as I have to buy it before 6000 miles. God knows whats next! Am I the only unlucky one? This is extremely poor quality control by Honda for a redesigned car.

  My wife and I bought 2 new hondas the same day I bought the civic her the fit sport we love the honda reliability she had a crv for nine years virtualy trouble free. the civic seemed like a good choice for me because of reliability, fuel economy and nice styling inside and out.

  I purchased the 2006 Honda Si after a great deal of research and many vehicle test drives. As a matter of fact, I test drove it, then called the dealer two hours later and told him I wanted it. After owning the car for a day, a rattle developed in the back. I began searching for the cause and determined that the passenger side rear seat was not latched - problem solved. When cruising, the car is very quiet, but accelerate up through the gears and the tuned exhaust sings as the engine tachs up. Cornering is a dream in this car with virtually no body roll, and the deep buckets really hold you in place.

  Quite a surprise - 2006 Honda Civic

  I replaced a larger sedan with this vehicle which I had to wait a few weeks to get. I would say it was definitely worth it. The vehicle is well-designed and it is still fun to drive even after six months or more. I dont get 40 miles to a gallon although I have gotten close. My daily commute is a mix of highway and back roads. Initially I thought it was overpriced but I cant say I have enjoyed other cars this much. I am kind of a big person and the car has plenty of room. Well done, Honda.

  I replaced my 2001 Accord with the 2006 Civic looking for better MPG and handling I got what I was looking for! It was a strange looking car at the time but since then more and more cars have the bullet shaped frame.

  Saved My Life! - 2006 Honda Civic

  I bought my 2006 Honda Civic and drove it for 2 1/2 years. LOVED it! Smooth, has great power, comfortable, perfect size. In August of 2008 I was rear ended in the fast lane of a 4-lane freeway. I was struck so hard my car flew sideways into the next lane where my drivers side door slammed into the back end of another car at a 90 degree angle. I then flew across 2 more lanes of traffic, up the embankment and into the scrub trees. I walked away with a bruised arm and a cracked rib. No whiplash, no serious broken bones. My car was totaled, but I found had retained 100% of its value! His insurance gave me exactly what Id paid for it 2 1/2 years earlier! I went out and bought a 2008 Honda Civic!
