My CRV has been free of any problems at 75000 miles. My only complaints about it are poor sound insulation, such that its hard to listen to the radio on many highways, and a rough ride in the rear seat.

We bought the 2003 CR-V 4WD auto in June of 2003, replacing my wifes 1995 Maxima. She loves to shop yard/garage sales on the weekends. The CR-V is perfect for that. The CR-V is more fun to drive "around town" than my 2003 Pilot. After nearly 2 years of ownership, we took a road trip and arrived as refreshed as we would have in our Pilot. At 24K miles the reliability has been great. No problems except the power port fuse blowing twice when she charges her cell phone. She averages 22 town and 27 highway. I avg 2-3 mpg better for both. More than ample power around town and adiquate power on the road, most of the time. However, passing above 65 is a bit slow!

  • Good Vehicle-but not everthing you think - 2003 Honda CR-V

I was anxious to get my CRV-EX (dark blue 5-speed). Had many dealer installed options put in (dealer may not budge on sticker but you can neg on the options). Good all around vehicle and very dependable and lots of room inside for people and cargo (more than youd think). However, gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired (not close to window sticker) and its kind of dismal in the snow (Im used to 4WD not AWD). Ive got 22,000 mls so far (just under a year) and I might get rid of it soon (get something better in the snow - my Saab did better in the snow with just FWD)!

  • Great for the long haul! - 2003 Honda CR-V

Turned 190,000 miles after 38 months of ownership and absolutely no major mechanical repairs. We did routine maintenance, replaced tires once and the battery on this workhorse over that time. My company pays a vehicle allowance plus mileage and I could not imagine a better bang for their bucks. I am looking to sell or trade-in for the same car as the new body style becomes available for 2007. I have looked at several other wagons and small SUVs in this price range and the CRV is my winner.

  • Good choice for me. - 2003 Honda CR-V

Good car over all, but its not something that will knock your socks of (unless you are upgrading from Yugo.) Its a good choice for my needs, but its overpriced and overrated.

  • Always in the repair shop - 2003 Honda CR-V

This is perhaps the worse vehicle I have ever owned, In three years it has been in the service shop to replace the entire air conditioner unit. The last time occured in September 05 when the compressor exploded for the second time. Honda took the dash and front end of the car apart and then could not obtain a new compressor. the car remained in the shop for two weeks. When asked if they would extend the warranty on the AC, Honda denied the request and said it could not happen a third time. When it does I will sue DC Honda and Honda motors as many others have had the same problem.

Great SUV. Fun to drive, well designed. Love the 4WD on demand. Has saved us in snow, ice, & mud. Holds plenty of family and gear. Tows small boat ok. Never a problem except Air compressor blew up at 50,000 mi. Whole system had to be replaced. Honda provided parts but cost $700 in dealer labor. Have heard this is a problem for others.

  • Great car, lousy tires - 2003 Honda CR-V

Great car, lousy tires, terrible traction in snow and rain. Poor tread wear and noisy. Would recomend having dealer change them before buying.

  • My 2003 CRV - 2003 Honda CR-V

This is the easiest car to maintain I have 56000 miles on it and havent needed anything done other than oil changes every 5000 miles, tires, wipers well only basic things. The brakes are not even due to get changed yet. Its great on the highway, in town and in the snow and I dont need a shovel to get me out of the snow most of the time, 6" of snow not a problem, in or out. Its great, only 1 rattle in 56000 miles.I plan on trading it in in about a year for the new CRV.

  • TrannyGear ShiftTroubles - 2003 Honda CR-V

First off this is my 4th Honda. I own 3 Accords so I like the Honda brand. The CRV is a disappointment as far as the Honda workmanship goes. My gear shifter doesnt go into gear easily. Its a struggle to get it to go into gear. I brought it into the dealer and they just lubricated the cable. It still gives me a hard time to shift into to gear. The mileage does not get anywhere near the what the sticker states. Out of all my Hondas this one goes to the gas station way too many times.
