  • Disappointed - 2003 Honda CR-V

I love aspects of my CRV but it has had many problems for a new car. Ive always been faithful to Hondas but Im thinking of trading this one in for a Jeep.

  • I researched them all for a year - 2003 Honda CR-V

Very happy I did all the leg work driving all the other suvs. Price was right. It has everything I wanted: standard. The body styling is much better than years past. I want it all, but can not afford it, so this made me happy.

Enjoy the spacious feel and drivability on the road. Was looking for something larger but still decent gas mileage and it fits the bill. Good milage on the open road.

  • 2003-EX CRV-Almost There! - 2003 Honda CR-V

I too looked around and narrowed it down to the Tribute and the CR-V. Since I had owned previous Hondas, I went with the known entity. The 4 cylinder is very peppy, more so than most V-6s I have driven. Its pretty economical, though I felt gas mileage would be better, averaging about 21-22 mpg local. Interior design needs work, the gear shift needs to be on the floor as one can knockout of gear by trying to change radio stations! Heated exterior mirrors would also be beneficial as well as intermittent wipers. All in all, for the price, its a very tidy package. Service needs to be more responsive...

  • Honda CRV AWD - 2003 Honda CR-V

Having had this car for a year now, I probably would have purchased another vehicle due to just one thing and that is how uncomfortable/noisy this car rides and handles. Everything else is fine, especially the styling and quality. If I drive this vehicle for more than an hour I am ready for a break. Dont take your eyes off of the road for a milisecond while driving because this vehicle will wander away quicker than I have ever seen another vehicle do.

  • very good, but could be better - 2003 Honda CR-V

Too soon to tell about durability, but I have Great Expectations. Overall, Im very happy, but there are a few ergonomic glitches that need work. The dash mount shift lever is too easily confused with the wiper lever, steering wheel is too stiff and heavy for one-hand steering, and the OEM tires are very poorly rated at tire racks website. ABS not avail on LX.

  • Not A Hylander - 2003 Honda CR-V
    By -

Initially I wanted to purcase a 6 cyl. Hylander, my wife talked me out of it because of the poor gas mileage. Instead we went with the CR-V, because not only did we get better gas mileage, but, we got a car that has as much horsepower as a family of 3 will need. In addition, we took it on vacation in July, packed it to the top, and included five people. Needless to say, even packed full, we had more than enough power, and we ever got about 26- mpg on the highway. Wow!!!

  • crv excellent - 2003 Honda CR-V

great vehicle even tows my small trailer with my 4 wheeler on it.

  • Reliable light car with the space of an SUV - 2003 Honda CR-V
    By -

My CRV is going strong at over 143,000 miles and is great for city/suburb driving and commute, moving lots of stuff or large items, and the occasional camping or road trip. Engine/transmission and electrical are very reliable but acceleration is starting to drag a little bit, and the door lock actuator is broken (as in other reviews). But I have done all regular maintenance and major services like brake replacements, and the car is fine. Its easy to park and fits lots of stuff with fold-down seats. The seats arent plush, but the interior is roomy and practical with good driving visibility if you remove the rear headrests. Roof rack has come in handy. Reasonably safe, although you wouldnt want to be in a side-crash as many vehicles are larger/heaver than this. Feels like a light car with the space of an SUV. Paint and finish have held up perfectly.
