  • Honda does it again - 2003 Honda CR-V

This is my 3rd Honda and 2nd purchase at Henessey Honda in Woodstock, GA. Both times, the sales staff has been "5 star" in all areas. Honda reliability is what sold us but this "mini" SUV is all my husband and I need for work and our weekend trips. Always excellent service at Henessey.

This is my very first new car. The first two years were bliss because I overlooked little things that are now driving me crazy. And each month a new noise appears. The linkage is awful but my mechanic tightens it up regularly. Brakes failed me on a bridge in Virginia last August. Horrifying but let me tell you how grateful I am to have a standard transmission. All tires have been replaced. Monday the new starter goes in. The road noise which I cheerfully ignored because I was driving a HONDA is now torture. The original battery lasted 3 months. The passenger side door lock does not open automatically any more. Fuses have been replaced. Never again.

This SUV is very functional, with a great use of space. Also, you cant beat the reliability and re-sale value.

  • No So Good Honda - 2003 Honda CR-V

I am very disappointed and surprised at the unreliability of the 2003 CRV. I thought Hondas lasted a long time with standard maintenance. I had to replace the tires not long after I got the car. The ones that come with the car are poor and unstable. My seatbealts are difficult to use and dont slide back and forth as they should. The security light stayed on because one of the seatbeats was not working at all. A part had to be ordered. Another one is a nightmare to use. I have had to replace one of the oxygen sensors for $550.00. Now my clutch and air conditioner are going out. Thats another $2000 plus. Because of this, I will not purchase another Honda and will now trade this one in.

I bought a Honda thinking I wouldnt have any issues. I bought it used but certified. I got the carfax had one owner. I have had the air conditioner blow up twice. I also have had several other issues. Thank god I got the extended warranty that covered most of the problems. I do mean most. They always seem to come up with things it didnt cover. I am about to hit 100k miles and really thinking about trading it in because I cant cover any more problems.

  • Disappointed in Honda - 2003 Honda CR-V

Between my wife and I we have owned four Hondas, 3 Accords and now 1 2003 CRV EX. We purchased each Honda new and all three Accords were fantastic reliable vehicles. I thought that I was a Honda customer for life. Then we bought a new 2003 CRV. Its now 6 years old with only 49K miles on it. Weve replaced 2 sensors ($450), all four brake pads and rotors ($500) and now both front struts + a front end alignment ($600). I can understand all of these wear items around the 100K area, but not at 49K miles. In reading through other reviews, looks like I can expect the AC to go soon too. Well try Toyota soon. Honda, learn from the quality errors of the big three, or you may be sorry.

I have wanted a CRV since 1998 and Im thrilled to finally own one. This is the greatest car Ive ever owned. Its fun to drive and great in heavy traffic. The CD player and cruise control make long trips way more enjoyable. I highly recommend it!

  • Its Great ! - 2003 Honda CR-V

I have owned many cars in my lifetime and this one has got to be the best ever. I love the ride quality (more like a car than an SUV).It has plenty of interior room for passengers as well as cargo.I cant understand why anyone would pay a higher price for one of those heavy suvs when this one does it all at an affordable price. The CRV is an exceptional value even if you pay full sticker price for it. (I didnt)

  • Four Wheel Drive on a Budget - 2003 Honda CR-V

The 03 Honda CRV is a good choice overall, given Hondas well known build quality and high resale value. It is well engineered and has plenty of room especially for this class. However I do notice some cost cutting measures taken. I am disapointed that only the drivers power window switch illuminates at night.I believe the Honda CRV EX is a good value with the features it does include. However if I was considering the CRV 4WD LX model I would give the Subaru Forester 2.5X a serious look.

  • My Great Choice - 2003 Honda CR-V

I heard about it from my friends and was told to give it a try when looking for my SUV. I tried the RAV 4 but I knew right away when I test drove it, that it was the car to buy. Quiet engine, 5 star saftey, and Hondas rep. for being reliable sold me right there, and then there was the test drive...
