This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Honda Accord receives freshened interior and exterior styling and mechanical- and feature-related updates. Sharp eyes will notice the Accord's revised fascias and new alloy wheel designs. Minor engine tweaks, including drive-by-wire throttle control, result in a slight bump in horsepower for both the four-cylinder and V6 engine (a more significant development than you might think given the more stringent SAE testing procedures in effect this year). Additionally, the V6 sedan can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and all V6 models have revised suspension settings, 17-inch alloy wheels and stability control. Last year's DX has been replaced by the VP (Value Package) trim with standard air conditioning and cruise control, and LX V6 and Hybrid models gain a moonroof. The LX Special Edition includes alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and a CD changer. The Accord Hybrid also picks up stability control and a temporary spare tire in place of last year's flat-fix kit. Additionally, the Hybrid model's fuel economy rating drops from 29 city/37 highway to 25/34. Finally, all models get a smart maintenance system and daytime running lamps.

Pros:
  • Roomy and stylish interior with simple controls, tight build quality, smooth ride, refined drivetrains, good crash test scores, strong reputation for reliability, high resale value.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful. Hybrid model offers no advantage in fuel economy over four-cylinder.

  • Sink the boat of GM - 2006 Honda Accord

Ive owned GM cars for 15 years & never once thought of owning a Honda. After big problems with the LeSabre & the Lacrosse, it was time for a change. The Accord was just the answer I was looking for. Smooth ride and quietness makes the high marks of this car. A little road noise is present, but not a bother. Will keep this car for long time.

  • GREAT CAR... - 2006 Honda Accord

2006 Honda Accord Cpe in January fully loaded (leather, Navi) with 26,000 miles on it. I did have a 2005 Civic before drove that one for 180,000 miles never in the shop accept for oil changes, and still going. I love the Accord it is quick and reliable. I now have 53,000 miles on it and I have never had an issue it drives like it is brand new. 2 things: better paint. It chips easy and does not look appealing. Better leather, not too bad and mine still looks Nice but I clean it with Lexol every 2 months. Best navi. It pin points down to the exact point of turn and finds the best routes to bring me everywhere. Recommend the car to anyone I am a Honda girl for life.

  • Forget the Toyota Camry - 2006 Honda Accord

I purchased four Hondas in the past five years and this Accord it is one of the best. I did a lot of research between the 06 Camry LE and the Honda Accord SE. The thing I never like about Toyota it is their interior design and the fact that you must pay extra for safety features like Curtains Air Bags (standar even in the Accords cheapest model) Also, my wife calls the Camry an eldest peoples car (meaning the design it is not appealing to her) Also you will get more horse power and more torque. Excellent performance while driving. The Accord SE interior makes the Camry looks like an old Yugo. I got a bad back and the support on the seat is great.

  • 2006 Honda Accord New Owner - 2006 Honda Accord

Changing from a Durango to Honda Accord has been quite emotional & Im still grieving but gas mileage is more important. New owner for 3 weeks; handling is okay but doesnt take bumps well. Going in for service b/c have recently noticed front glass appears to have come unglued?? - squeaking noise full length of glass next to hood when you go over bumps. If you like your music, make sure it gives the power you want. For me, depending on what youre listening to, sound doesnt go up high enough.

  • good car - 2006 Honda Accord

I like this car generally, although a few things annoy me about it. First is the high catch point on the clutch makes it a little hard to drive at first until you get used to it. Also, the light steering on this car make it follow the grade of the road too much. I thought the alignment was out, but it just tracks the road curvature a lot. The seats collect lint very easily. The brakes are really grabby.

  • Smart blast of a car - 2006 Honda Accord

This car is a rocket. It is very close to luxery as well. Love the navigation system and it gets great mileage. Love it...

  • Disappointment in mileage - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

I do love my car but the wool was pulled over our eyes about the mileage. I adverage about 26-28 miles per gallon far less than the sticker said. The was not able to deduct the car being a Hybrid on taxes as told by salesperson.

  • 6 speed needed - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

Manual wakes this 6 up. Quick when pushed but I average 28 mpg mixed. Tires not wide enough for its guts, can spin the wheels through first 3 gears. Some road noise but tolerable. Not a quiet floater, good compromise for family car and fun. Disappointed they dropped the V6 6 speed sedan for new body style. There are a few of us with kids who like to play a little.

  • Very satisfied - quality vehicle - 2006 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had my Accord for about 4 months, and recently returned from a 1200+ mile trip, averaging 35 mpg (mostly highway). There is more than adequate power for me with the 4cyl engine (and use of regular gas is a plus). Even though the drive is on the sporty/stiff side, its quite comfortable. The interior is tastefully and thoughtfully designed. I feel like Im in a luxury sports sedan without the luxury price. Not a stand-out car (seems like Im always passing one on the street), but a solid/reliable vehicle. If only it werent one of the top stolen vehicles in my city...

  • V6 4 Door Manual - 2006 Honda Accord

Great car, has an abundance of power especially with the manual. The car does everything more than well but nothing perfect. It is a jack of all trades that gets good gas mileage as well.
