This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Honda Accord receives freshened interior and exterior styling and mechanical- and feature-related updates. Sharp eyes will notice the Accord's revised fascias and new alloy wheel designs. Minor engine tweaks, including drive-by-wire throttle control, result in a slight bump in horsepower for both the four-cylinder and V6 engine (a more significant development than you might think given the more stringent SAE testing procedures in effect this year). Additionally, the V6 sedan can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and all V6 models have revised suspension settings, 17-inch alloy wheels and stability control. Last year's DX has been replaced by the VP (Value Package) trim with standard air conditioning and cruise control, and LX V6 and Hybrid models gain a moonroof. The LX Special Edition includes alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and a CD changer. The Accord Hybrid also picks up stability control and a temporary spare tire in place of last year's flat-fix kit. Additionally, the Hybrid model's fuel economy rating drops from 29 city/37 highway to 25/34. Finally, all models get a smart maintenance system and daytime running lamps.

Pros:
  • Roomy and stylish interior with simple controls, tight build quality, smooth ride, refined drivetrains, good crash test scores, strong reputation for reliability, high resale value.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful. Hybrid model offers no advantage in fuel economy over four-cylinder.

  • 2006 EX Sedan w/Leather - 2006 Honda Accord

I bought this car new and now have 51,500 miles. It has never been in the shop except for oil changes. I went from MBZ and LEXUS to Honda and this car is actually fun to drive. The only down side to this car is that everyone else has one. Great value and dealer has been great since day one.

  • One of the best! - 2006 Honda Accord

I purchased my accord after looking at much higher-priced vehicles such as the Acura RL etc. I found that the accord was the better value overall especially since it was over 7K less. The V6 engine provides enough power. Very comfortable interior. VERY spacious rear seating area. Smooth and quiet ride. One of the best integrated navigation systems available. I love the XM especially on long trips. Fuel management works great and allows you to constantly manage your instant fuel consumption. I was able to get over 30 mpg CITY using this feature (granted i drove much slower but at speed limits). Cant go wrong with this car!

Ive owned 7 Accords, and this version is absolutely the finest yet. Ive also owned Mazda, Toyota and Ford, but never found a vehicle as refined and reliable as Honda. I purchased the Accord Sedan V6 with the 6 speed manual transmission, and this baby can move!!! Great ride, control, and comfort. Highly recommended!

  • Good Car - 2006 Honda Accord

Ive been commuting in this vehicle for almost three years and have about 44,000 miles on it. I average about 30 miles per gallon on a V-6 engine. This car has a lot of power and drives like a sports car. The only problem I had is the engine light came on three times because the valves needed adjustment, which was covered under warranty. Fit and finish and ride quality are typical Honda: top notch. My only complaint has been the resale value, but that may have corrected itself since gas priced have increased. In a nutshell, this vehicle offers 4 cylinder gas mileage, with a potent V-6 under the hood.

We test drove the Toyota Camry no real comparison more safety features 8 airbags in the Honda 7 in the Camry Honda comes w/abs standard Camry charges as an extra w/Honda more horsepower & quicker pick up interior of the Honda design blows away the Camry. The Accord 2 separate A/C for passenger & driver the control panel is very eye pleasing with large display. The Accord much better value.

This is my 2nd Accord and my 4th Honda. I absolutely think they make the best cars you can buy. Fun to drive, most reliable, and low maintenance costs. If you are looking for a worry free fun car to drive that will last 10 or more years and hold its value the whole time, look no further than the Accord. I think this Accord is the best looking. They ruined the looks in 08.

I have had this Hybrid for 2 months and still love the car. MPG for city driving is 29 on average and highway is running at 40. I bought this car used to save on gas, very pleased with mileage and performance. Great car!

  • Another Winner! - 2006 Honda Accord

I sold my dependable Civic after 6 years and upgraded to a 2006 Accord. Im glad they offered a VP version - the power windows feature on the LX wasnt worth the extra cost. Excellent interior layout design: simple, elegant, and functional. No ego inflation needed! Im amazed at how quiet the ride is. Braking is a bit soft but you adjust to it. Theres a lot of features built into this car such as daytime running lights, adjustable instrumentation panel brightness (love this!), and standard side airbags. Looked at the Altima and Camry but found that Honda was still the overall winner!

  • Not your fathers family sedan. - 2006 Honda Accord

Ive only owned the car for a couple of months. Power is plentiful and the V6 makes a wonderful sound above 3500 rpm. The car is eerily quiet at lower rpms, and it has taken me a while to get used to the lack of noise from the engine. The engine and transmission just ooze with smoothness. The suspension is wonderful. You feel every bump exactly once, no more. Certainly not sports-car tight, but neither is it all floaty like my parents cars. A fantastic compromise between ride and handling. Combined with the six-speed manual, this is a drivers car in the guise of a "boring family sedan". It seats four comfortably and can outaccelerate both the 1986 IROC-Z Camaro and Mustang GT.

I bought this originally for my wife ... but now we struggle almost daily to see who will drive the Accord! Extremely agile and comfortable. Lots of fun! Very economical. We both LOVE it!
