The 2006 Honda Accord receives freshened interior and exterior styling and mechanical- and feature-related updates. Sharp eyes will notice the Accord's revised fascias and new alloy wheel designs. Minor engine tweaks, including drive-by-wire throttle control, result in a slight bump in horsepower for both the four-cylinder and V6 engine (a more significant development than you might think given the more stringent SAE testing procedures in effect this year). Additionally, the V6 sedan can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and all V6 models have revised suspension settings, 17-inch alloy wheels and stability control. Last year's DX has been replaced by the VP (Value Package) trim with standard air conditioning and cruise control, and LX V6 and Hybrid models gain a moonroof. The LX Special Edition includes alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and a CD changer. The Accord Hybrid also picks up stability control and a temporary spare tire in place of last year's flat-fix kit. Additionally, the Hybrid model's fuel economy rating drops from 29 city/37 highway to 25/34. Finally, all models get a smart maintenance system and daytime running lamps.

Honda VP after SAAB 93 - 2006 Honda Accord
By William - July 4 - 2:50 amCar runs great, no problems so far, very comfortable ride, Driver seat not as comfortable 93 SAAB, otherwise the ride is nice and smooth. Car is really roomy too. Nice power on the expressway and around the city. Gas mileage not too good during breakin period, hopefully it gets better, I have 200 miles on the car so far is on my second tank of gas, re-fueled at 200 miles/half tank. Bought new wheels, hub caps not for me. Nice car!

I like it - 2006 Honda Accord
By eric - June 28 - 3:13 pmMy wife always wanted a Honda and we deceided to buy a luxury car when our Taurus broke down. The v-6 engine is very strong and the car handles great. I love the sunroof and the cd player. 48 dollars fills up the tank and that will last one week. I feel good about our purchase. Honda did a great job.

Great engine terrible seats - 2006 Honda Accord
By aggiex - June 27 - 10:29 pmI traded in an F150 for my Accord for gas mileage. So far I am completely satisfied with the performance and mileage of the 4cyl. My biggest complaint is the front seats are rock hard and the lumbar is too high and not adjustable. I spend a lot of time driving and have constant back pain from the seats. Despite the impressive engine, I wish I could get rid of the car already because of the seats. My other complaint is the brakes are extremely touchy and lock up very easily when wet (from rain, etc.).

Why did Honda drop the Accord Hybrid? - 2006 Honda Accord
By BWM - June 26 - 6:37 amBy far this is the best Accord ever! On a recent trip (June 2008) the mileage computer registered 511 miles, we still had 1/8 tank left, computer showed 39 mpg. After filling up I rechecked the mpg with a calculator and it showed 40 mpg! I dont know what Honda was thinking but my Hybrid Accord is outperforming every other Hybrid out there while 260 horses provide pure zooming fun!

By Erin - June 23 - 8:13 amI just purchased my Honda Accord EX-L 4CL with leather/moonroof and am so happy that I did. I was looking at spending extra for a certified pre-owned Volvo S60 or the Nissan Maxima. I just couldnt find any good deals, as the latter models were over priced and over hyped. When I test drove the Accord, I fell in love. The interior is that of a Lexus- quality. I couldnt believe it. So smooth and its got a lot of pep for a 4CL engine. I just got rid of my gas guzzling Jeep Cherokee V6. So over these ridiculous gas prices! Used to have to fill my truck twice a week to get back forth to my job. Ive cut that by just more than half (and itll get better once its broken in).

By griff33 - June 19 - 6:20 pmJust purchased my 2006 accord and absolutely am in love! Originally owned a 1993 accord and sadly traded it for an SUV! BIG MISTAKE. I drive a lot and this car is a pleasure to drive and its nimble on the highways when needed. The leather seats are comfortable and the navi will be a great asset to me for business meetings.

Nice, but not a "sport" sedan - 2006 Honda Accord
By Chris - June 17 - 7:06 pmAll the normal great things you get from Honda, good design, comfort, reliability. The engine is powerful and smooth, and the 6-speed transmission adds some sportiness. But dont fool yourself, this car is sill a Honda Accord. Youre not getting a "cheaper" sports sedan by going to the manual. Doesnt handle like a Buick, but leaves something to be desired. The car needs a better handling package, upgraded suspension with wider tires and upgraded brake system.

Who could ask for more? - 2006 Honda Accord
By GB - June 10 - 7:12 pmI bought this car new and it now has 28k miles. It has been trouble free, though I do need to have the drivers window adjusted now b/c it squeaks. Recently I began driving slower (the speed limit) and it has consistently turned in 36 mpg, which is phenomenal. The car will accelerate quickly when you push it, the 4 wheel double wishbone suspension (gone on the new model) handles great and is lightweight. Honda did an excellent job on this car and I highly recommend it. I do wish it had a 6 speed manual on the 4 cylinder. My favorite feature is the electrochomatic speedo display. Great job, Honda, in creating a perfectly balanced, safe reliable, affordable car. I suggest Boston speakers
