This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • The car Detroit wishes it could build! - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

With a daughter in college, my family needed dependable, economical transportation. I considered the Camry, Mazda6, and the Accord, and chose the Accord. No regrets! It is a much better car than I had anticipated. Excellent economy, good performance, good sound system. Handles well and very comfortable. I knew that Honda made good products, but did not anticipate the Accord being this good.

  • If it was made in Japan....... - 2005 Honda Accord

First time Honda Experience and the biggest dissapointment so far. Leased in March , a month later annoying noises at the curtain airbag, rear seatbelt - had to be fixed , scrape sounds when changing gears 1-2 - Honda have no clue how to fix it....two months later - rear speaker is going off + annoying sounds when AC turned on ...Come on ..have 1400 miles on it and it seems that the car will fall apart at 10000 or so...

  • sagging headliner - 2005 Honda Accord

the headliner is held up with four little pices of velcro wich do not do the job, it sags down about a half inch wich is very annoying for taller drivers. also fuel ecconmy is only 20 mpg. I was a big honda fan till i bought this accord, my civic was a better choice,

  • Misrepresented gas milage - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my Accord Hybrid in Jan.05. At that time, the mileage was grossly misrepresented. It has since been adjusted downwards, but I wish I got the mileage they are claiming now. It is a very pleasant car to drive. It should be advertised as a performance car that gets mediocre mileage. The quality of the leather interior is awful. Also, my car did not come with a spare tire. There is a space for one. Cost me $200 to have one installed. Although I will probably keep this car for now, I will not buy another Honda.

  • Good, but not great - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased the car after getting a new job and losing my company car, a 2002 Ford Taurus. The Honda is definitely better, but not as much as I expected it to be, especially the build quality. There are already rattles and creaks coming from the interior and the sunroof and the car only has 100 miles on it. Dont get me wrong, the quality is good, I just expected more. Also, not happy with the dealership at all. When I took delivery, the car was not totally clean and there was a ding and scratch in the rear bumper. To get me out of his hair, the salesman told me that if they could not fix the bumper to my satisfaction, theyd replace it completely. Well see what happens...

  • 05 Accord EX-L 5 speed - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I love this car. Replaced a 95 Accord V6 EX-L with this. Car is quiet, smooth, and loaded with features. 5 speed makes the 4 cylinder very easy to live with, and with gas prices going up every day, mileage is great as well.

  • Solid vehicle - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought my Accord new and am still enjoying it. The car has aged gracefully and still looks great with zero mechanical problems. Powerwise, the 240 hp V6 is smooth and strong. Fuel economy is a little disappointing at 19 mpg city, but at least it uses regular. I like the ride just fine, but the handling is a little tepid. I think the biggest problem is the terrible stock tires that are hard as a rock and downright dangerous in the rain. The seats are not the greatest, but not terrible interior materials are first rate. The 5 spd automatic is superb-- best I have driven. Resale value is phenomenal.

  • Hard to get rid of - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Handing this off to college age daughter and after looking at the 08 accord and others I dont want to get rid of it. Its been everything I expected it to be. When guests get in they talk about how nice it is. My father raves about the color (red). It so fun to drive and cant imagine ever owned a 4 cyl now. But its nothing to brag about from the outside. very plain.
