This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Roomy and stylish interior, tight build quality, smooth ride, powerful and efficient hybrid model, good crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

  • It goes a Lonfg way - 2005 Honda Accord

I travel to Phila on a regular basis. Ive never had the pleasure of traveling to Phila on one tank of gas and having over a eighth of a tank left. Its a very quiet car. Sometimes I must check my tach. to verify that its running. I love the XM radioin it. I never thought I would but it makes those long drives go faster. Speaking of faster, Ive had it up to 120+MPH on more than one occasion. Nothing vibrated or fell off for over 30 seconds at that speed. Even a State troper pulled along side as I was decelerating from one of these high speed events,( I thought I had it), and mouthed a "wow- A hybrid?" along with a please slow down jesture. I did! He let me go . He must have been impressed

  • Disappointed in Honda - 2005 Honda Accord

Ordinary driving yields mediocre milage, low 20s suburban, upper 20s highway. You must learn to drive this vehicle differently to get better, but still well below EPA sticker, milage. Very slow acceleration, constant use of cruise control, etc. The electric package is so small that it almost never is used. The major economy comes from shutting off 3 cylinders in cruise, but the transition between 3 and 6 cylinders to too sensitive. Even a 2% grade will kick it back to 6 cylinders, and pressing on the accelerator ever so slightly will do the same thing. Having driven a Prius, Im disappointed in Honda. A nice sedan, well made, but the hybrid package is a disappointing misfit.

  • Great Overall - 2005 Honda Accord

A really great car overall. It could use about 25 more horsepower. Its very quick at 240hp, but it would be a beast at 265hp. Good thing we can add on after market intakes and exhusts. I definatly recommend geting the Honda Factory Performance Suspesion. The ride is so much tighter and the slight drop really makes the car look awesome. If you have the extra cash id get the Aero Packeage as well. As a whole the car is an Excellent choice.

  • Love the Honda - 2005 Honda Accord

I have had many new cars over the years, most were GM & Ford but this Honda has to be at the top in most all aspects. Its fun to drive and is fast for a 4 cyl. & delivers good mileage. I drive fast 70 to 80 most of the road miles & the little Honda gives me high 30s and once in a while will squeak 40 MPG. This is our first Honda and it will not be my last. In short its my best auto purchase in 50 years (trade at least one vehicle a year)... so you can see I think a lot of this car & the company stands behind them.

  • Great Value - 2005 Honda Accord

Bought this car back in Dec of 04. Best value for my money hands down. car is up to 100K miles and drives like its brand new. all systems (electric, sound sun-roof, & leather) work beautify and never had a problem. Passengers and friends dont believe that I have 100K miles or that the car is 4 years old. I highly recommend this vehicle!

I drive my honda over 100 miles a day, and it has never let me down. It is a very fun car to drive.

  • good ride - 2005 Honda Accord

We bought this car as a traveling vehicle. It far exceeds the mileage ratings. We get from 30 to over 38 on the highway. We have been diagonally across the US, and back. The power of the four engine is amazing. It is comfortable and quiet on the highway. Incidentally, I dont slow for the hills, and most of our driving is at 75 mph speeds, and in a lot of elevation changes. I like the looks, but admit I like the taillight treatment of the 06 and later Accord. I also love the look of the instrument array.

  • Honda needs to learn from the Europeans - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Ive had 4 Hondas over the years, and several European makes. I purchased this car this week, and in the first 400 miles I realize this was a mistake. While Honda manufactures wonderful engines and transmissions, and are generally user-friendly, the steering and suspension are COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENTS. The car drives like a rollerskate, fights changes in direction, rebounds off any inperfections in the road, cannot track around bends to save itself, and has a completely unacceptable amount of road noise resonating in the cabin. I drive 100 miles a day, and this car makes me tired with steering corrections and road noise. This car is pointed in directions - it doesnt "handle" at all.

  • great compromise - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

This car has been a great compromise between mileage and power. I drive 600+ miles per week, and the average 40% improvement in mileage over my previous sedan is significant, particularly considering the HAH has 10 more hp. Factor in that the HAH takes regular gas, not premium, and I am very happy with the economics of the change. Ive had a few design/build quality issues, but nothing significant. If youre looking for amazing mileage, go with the Civic or Prius. If you like to get good mileage and still have considerable muscle to flex, this is a great choice.

  • Solid 4 cylinder engine - 2005 Honda Accord

Honda Accord is by far the best midsize sedan, even better than Volvo s60. Stepped down to regular 4 cyl for better mileage and no regrets.
