This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Great Car - 2005 Honda Accord

This honda has been an answer to my prayers. It has everything you need from looks to luxury. Its interior is really quiet and the ride is very smooth. This vehicle accelerates like a V6 and handles like a sports car. This honda has a V-tec engine unlike its main competition, the toyota camry, which makes the accord accelerate a lot faster than it would without a v-tec engine. This car is really fuel efficient and spacious. What more could I say its a Honda.

Ive never owned a Honda before this. My previous cars were all fast, fun and sporty. When my last car began having serious problems, I decided to take a look at the Accord. The 4 cylinder model isnt a road racer, but Ive found that this car as a whole is one of the finest overall I have ever driven. Agile, light, and confortable, my problem free Accord has been nothing short of trustworthy, fun, frugal, and perfect. Would I like a big horsepower car? Sure. Would I give up my Accord in a Chicago winter? Nope. Im keeping mine for a long time. This will eventually become my winter car that I will use to supplement the sports car. Even still, my Accord drives great and is perfect.

  • Not Trading 2005 for 2008! - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive had 2005 EX V6 for over 3 years now and have decided to hang onto it for a few more years, because I think the new body style is ugly! Right before the warranty expired, the whole transmission needed to be replaced. Challenging myself to get the highest MPGs I could, I recently achieved over 37 MPGs on a trip on the highway, never exceeding 65 mph and being very gentle on the accelerator. Cant beat that for efficiency! Other than the transmssion, Ive had no problems with the car, so Im hanging onto it. Compared to American sedans I drive at work, the steering and suspension feel "alive" and connected to me.

  • Accord buyer for life so far - 2005 Honda Accord

Minus normal wear and tear the car has held up perfect almost. Seems to have a slight rattle from interior finish at highway speeds but besides that minus and misalighnment the car is great overall.Best overall car I have owned yet. Only the Eclipse of 98 was more fun to drive. I would buy this car again for their 2009 model possibly. The four cylinder has plenty of power you would believe it was a four.

  • Why my car is car of the year. - 2005 Honda Accord

Correctly chosen as car of the year. Camry and Legacy are a close second with Nissan barely being bumped to third. The accord wins here based on three item:gas mileage, lower end torque coupled with smooth CVT, intriguing cockpit design/fitnfinish.

This is my 5th Accord and totally different than all previous ones. Honda has outdone themselves! A great driving machine and quite comfortable.

  • Great Car - Hybrid? - 2005 Honda Accord

We had been investigating this car since March, comparing it to other hybrids. This was the one for us and we finally bought it in June. It was sturdier, faster, more like the luxury sedan we were used to. It is also much more fun to drive - and we get to help the environement!

  • 6 Speed Coupe Makes for Lively Commute - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Been commuting in Hondas since 1989-- two Civics and one Accord, all 4- cylinder 5-speeds. All very reliable, intelligently designed, and peppy enough to pass (as long as you were already moving--and didnt have the AC on). The 6-speed coupe is a very large performance leap from the 4-cyl. Accord. A little low on torque (210 lbs.), 1st gear is something you want to punch and get out of; 2d gear, conversely, will knock your head back. Uphill acceleration is phenomenal (even with the AC on). Shifting is very smooth and intuitive. While this car loves RPMs in the 4-6k range, it is also very much at home in stop and go traffic. Love the fact that this 6- speed takes REGULAR gas. 16k and no probs.

  • Gas Mileage to Improve? - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Bought the Accord Hybrid 1 week ago. Almost through the 600 mile break-inperiod. Wondering what other Accord Hybrid owners experience is with the MPG. Right now, Im only getting 25-27 combined city/highway. Thats a bit under the sticker - 31 city/37 highway. I drive 47 miles highway each way to/from work.

  • I Love This Car - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased my Honda Accord Hybrid on 7/11/05 and it has about 12,000 miles on it now. It has only been in the shop once for a recall which was a simple software update. Around the city I average 28mpg when I travel I get anywhere from 35 to 40mpg depending on how fast I drive. I do recommed this vehicle. But if you do choose to buy this vehicle make sure you get the Navigation System wish I had, since that is the only extra option.
