This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Great Car Period - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

I bought used with 38,000 miles. Put on 08 Accord wheels and tires and K&N filter. 4 cyl/auto has power to spare and gets great MPG. I have read some of the reviews about power/mpg on the 4 cyl and wonder what car they are driving!!! I am 60 years old and have owned Vetts and GTOs etc etc. While not comparing the Accord with either of these types of vehicles, I will say that for a 4 cyl auto this car is remarkable! So, in my opinion, you can not go wrong with this car.

  • A PLEASANT SURPRISE - 2005 Honda Accord

I am very pleased with my purchase of the 2005 Honda Accord. In my vehicle search, Honda was not my first my choice. I was in desperate need of a vehicle, and needed something I could rely on. I dont consider myself a basic person, but in my mind, that is what Honda represented. Boy! was I wrong. I was really impressed with the features and the style of the vehicle. The navigation system has helped me find my way on numerous occasions (a must if you can). I love the satellite radio, and I never listen to local stations anymore. My Accord has handled really well in the snow, when other more expensive cars have failed. All that I can say is that this is a purchase that I am glad I made.

  • Far from excellent - 2005 Honda Accord

What a let down for Hondas top model! The engine performance is excellent and fuel economy very good for a V6 but the rest of the package is less than outstanding. The leather interior is not very comfortable, seats slippery not soft, like the vinyl in dads old Chrysler. Interior heats up quickly in the sun the AC cant cool it down fast enough. Windows squeak and rattle in the tracks and the dash & console are full of annoying squeaks (made worse in the cold). Thank God for the stereo to drown it all out but forget about talking to anyone. ABS chatters over the smallest bumps and road noise is prominent, even with the factory undercoat. Too many blind spots from big pillars.

  • Standing the test of time - 2005 Honda Accord

After 125,000 miles, Im still happy. Bulletproof car, great mileage and ride. Feel confident behind the wheel at hwy speeds. Dont want to part with this car until at least 250,000 miles. Only negative is the brakes are too small, so the rotors warp faster than normal. Other than normal maintenance, only issue so far is a dead battery (which could be considered normal).

  • Accordingly - 2005 Honda Accord

Ive had my Accord for almost 5 months. I must say that I like the car a lot. It does everything well, but nothing extraordinary. Its peppy, has great looks (inside and out); is comfortable; reliable; great value; but a boring driving experience. Its a perfect car to get you to/from in style, knowing the end result will be a car with great resale value; low insurance costs; good safety record; and very good gas mileage. Its a buy.

  • Wow! - 2005 Honda Accord

Purchased for fuel economy with performance. Fast and quick handling. Runs like a V8. A better riding set of tires would make this car more comfortable on the freeways in CA. The factory Michlin S-8s are hybrid tires for fuel economy- they ride hard. Fuel economy is getting better now at 4,000K. A fuel additive gets us 40MPG Hyway and 30 in the city-best mileage. Average driving is lower at 25/35. Sound system is just ok. Dealer response has been good. I replaced the tire pump with a mini spare. No problems so far. We like the car! Brakes seem too sensitive and have a tendency to grab quickly at low speeds or when coming to a stop.

  • Great Car With Great Gas Mileage - 2005 Honda Accord

This is my 8th Honda and 5th Honda Accord that I have owned over the last 20 years. This vehicle has been fun to drive with great gas mileage. In combined city/highway driving, I have averaged 29 MPG.

  • Worth every penny - 2005 Honda Accord

This car is exactly what we were looking for in a mid size sedan. It has enough room for passengers, all of the stuff for us techno geeks, some luxury, the power, efficiency, build quality, and residuals that we were looking for.

  • Hybrid - 2005 Honda Accord

The car rides well, smooth and quiet. It handles very well and has a good turning radius. The engine has a lot of power. The GPS system is easy to use.

  • Started out great, rattles now - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Great car when first purchased, but interior rattles and questionable brakes have removed most hope of this being a longterm car. The car was delivered with 5 defects, most which were fixed. Included, bent left rr dr window sill seal, buzzing drivers arm rest, defective drivers door speaker, buzzing sunglass holder and a visible paint flaw in the hood. Two new rattles have shown up since then. The area aft of the sunroof on passengers side(sounds like two pieces of metal) and a popping sound from the A pillar at the dashboard. After 4 visits to the dealer the problem still persists. The brakes on this car do not modulate well when first starting out, almost like an on off switch
