This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

Bought the 2005 Honda Accord about a week before Christmas in 2004. Ended up getting the car a little sooner than I wanted after someone pulled out in front of my Honda Civic. Anyway, its the best car Ive ever owned. If you give this car proper maintenance it will go! Has a very smooth ride especially on the open road. Even though its a four cylinder it will run easily at 80 or 85mph. But I usually dont drive that fast. Gas mileage is supposed to be right around 31 to 35 mpg, but last summer took a round trip of 290 miles and wound up getting just over 39 mpg! Mind you I drove at or under 65. Good car, in future hope to buy another one.

So far so good. Have also noticed the blind spot in rear, so have to be careful. Everything else is typical Honda, well thought-out and dependable.

Car is a great deal for the price. I compared the EX V6 sedan with the Acura TL. I know they are very similar cars because they use the same Honda Platform. For the higher price of the TL, I couldnt justify spending and extra $6K more for the TL versus the Accord for few tech goodies. The V6 Accord is an excellent value.

  • I absolutely love my Accord! - 2005 Honda Accord

If you like to travel, then this is the car for you. Since purchasing my Honda Accord I have been to Atlanta, GA, Savannah & Tybee Island, GA, Hilton Head Island, GA and Myrtle Beach, SC. This car is fun to drive and handles incredibly well. My mother fell and broke her right ankle, and left foot. Even with 2 casts on she was able to fit comfortably in the backseat as well as the front passenger side. Investing in this vehicle was the best decision I have ever made!!

  • Fun to drive but poor NVH - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Got this car for 4 years now with 96,000 KM in the odometer. During warranty period, need to send back to the service center to change the cock-up alarm system and steering system. Annoyed with loud engine noise, wind noise and tyre noise. Also the suspension system is rather too firm for my liking. Road undulations, tyre and outside noise creep into the cabin. The overall NVH left much to be desired. Engine noise is so annoying that I have to add fuel additive to reduce noise. It helps, believe me. No qualm on the handling aspect. The fun factor somewhat offset the poor NVH and refinement, I guess.

After driving a Honda Civic for the past 7years, it was time to upgrade to its bigger brother. The engine on this car is AMAZING. Either starting at a red light, or passing on the highway, you always have more than adequate power.

Love the car overall. Interior is nice and all the features are within reach. Snappy response and is smooth and quite even at 115 mph. Kids dont try this at home.

After driving SUVs for ten years, the Accord Hybrid is a blast to drive. Over 30,000 miles in one year, and the gas savings keep adding up... and Increasing with the continual rise in gas prices. At expressway speeds, I average 32mpg. Style, comfort, pep, and economy. What else could you want.

I have driven Cadillacs most of my life. I gave up on GM so I went to the Honda. The performance of the Honda Accord is excellent. Little or no problems. I have driven the Honda Accord for a year now. It is everything I want in an automobile.

My brand new Honda windows started to rattle every morning in one place, then rattle another place in the evening from the 2 week that I brought it home. I bought the car into the shop to have it repair 4 times, but each time, there was no success, in addition, the dash board started to rattle, then something in my visor started to rattle, and they had to change out the visor and patten down the doors to stop the windows from rattling. In the end, it still rattles and they told me "its the nature of the car". Over all, this is my first and last Honda. I have owned this car for about a year and will most definetly trade it in for another vehicle.
