This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Blah... - 2005 Honda Accord

So I gave up on life and bought an Accord. This car will bring on your mid-life crisis within a year of purchase. No mechanical problems to date, just fiddly things like most of the buttons which used to light up no longer do, squeaky seat, questionable paint quality. Do not buy one with Navigation - you will really regret it, especially at trade in time. Fairly quick in a straight line, great highway MPG. Handling is borderline dangerous - attempt anything outside of granny driving and you will be sorry - a real issue in an emergency situation. All in all, a nice but boring car that handles like a van.

I love this car.It rides so smooth, taking every bump and turn with ease. I have the hybrib with the navigational system, just to see if the navi worked well i took a weekend trip out of town and used only the navi to find my way. And let me tell you it works great.never missed a beat.it found me places to eat, things to do in the area,as well as showed me how to get back to my hotel. Alot of people think just because it is a hybrid it is slow.wrong..it has speed.if you dont believe it has speed and saves gas you need to go test drive one. also dont forget you get a $2000. tax credit.if you want the one that is the best get the one i have 2005 honda accord hybrid w/leather,woodtrim and navi.

  • I LIKE IT! - 2005 Honda Accord

This car replaces a Saturn SL1 with 146K miles, so any new car would be a major improvement. What particularly impresses me about the Honda Accord is the excellent build quality. Fit and finish are superb. I mostly drive it around town. It handles securely in ice and snow and gives an excellent feel for clean roads without imparting fatigue. Power on local roads is excellent and it has maneuvers with ease on the highway. The automatic transmission almost never "hunts." for the right gear. Other cars (the Volvo S40, Acura TSX, VW Passat). . This car handes more serenely, but is still fun to drive. I think it represents a better value than the aforementioned vehicles

  • Great car for a great price - 2005 Honda Accord

My 3rd Honda. The diff from the 98Accrd I had, to my new 05 is night and day. Blck ext/ivory int is beautiful combo! Although 4dr sed, has sure footed ride up canyons to the mountains & cruises like a dream on the open hwy at 80mph. In 6 mnths & 10k miles, has been in Denver temps from 105 to minus 15. Averaging combined 31-37 mpg in all types of traffic & weather. The smooth 4 cyl has all the get up and go I need. Heated seats supportive, stereo was good surprise, and bright gauges easy to see. Auto 5spd tranny never hunts for gear. Minor wind noise above 70.. not an issue. Lip spoiler looks great & completes rear end. This car makes my 60 mile r/t daily commute a piece of cake.

Traded in my 2003 Honda Accord V-6 for the new Hybrid model. Overall, there is not a lot of difference in the two, but the Hybrid seems a little more solidly built for some reason, and quieter also. Handles a little differently, but I cant really say which one is better. Acceleraton is better with the Hybrid, and of course the mileage is better.

  • Better than expected - 2005 Honda Accord

With a daughter in college, we needed a practical, economical car. Choice came down to the Accord and Mazda 3 (a good car). Decided to spend the extra for the Accord -- good choice! The car is quiet, comfortable, and handles very well. Controls are logical and easy to use. The adjustible steering column makes finding an ideal driving position easy. Knew of Hondas quality, just did not expect this car to be as comfortable as our former 92 Lexus ES 300. Handles much better than the Camry.

Just got the EX4dr and its great. Quiet, smooth and can get up & Go(for a 4cyl that is). Got for $21,700 out the the door, with the Spoiler w/brake light and a bed liner in the trunk. Cant beat that. The handling on this car is as good as it gets. If choosing between Camry, Accord, or Altima it really a no brainer. Just dont budge on your price at the Dealer. Knowing how good the car is and how bad some people want them theyll take advantage of you. they tried to sale it to me for 23,789 without taxes tag etc. I got it for 21k with tax tag etc included! Worth 21k but not 24,25k.

  • Performance AND economy: Its about time - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

The test drive showed the strong performance inherent to the 240 HP V-6 coupled to the 6M. A trip thru the desert (LA to Phoenix) showed the surprising fuel efficiency. After 3.5 years 60k miles (on the OEM Michelins yet), the reliability has been only challenged a few times. Two pass. window regulators replaced under factory warranty. Ditto for a CEL dealing with a coolant sensor. I like the 6M but feel that "in-out" vague friction point clutch should try for more BMW-type feel. Other than that... best car Ive ever owned.

  • 05 Accord EX - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Purchased my 05 Accord Ex with 60k and it now has 105k. Routine Maint with the an O2 sensor at about 98k. Very comfortable, nice styling, heated seats are great, dual climate control and front, side and rear airbags. Only complaint is the road noise on the highway. Great tire wear, and the exterior looks perfect- even at 105k. 4 cyl is not sluggish and keeps up fine.

  • Great Car! - 2005 Honda Accord

This is our second Honda Accord sedan and fourth Honda. After test driving the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6, Volkswagen Passat, and Honda Accord, we liked the Accord best. Smooth ride, fit and finish, smooth shifting transmission, and feature packed for a $25,000 car! We have had poor experiences with the big 3 American automakers in the past and didnt want to have a financial burden repeat again. We found the Honda to be the best value in the bunch. We opted for no navigation system (we know how to use a map), and were fortunate enough to get employee pricing on our Accord. This is a great car and we hope to have it for many years to come.
